I know that Pop Warner participants do not stay at deluxe resorts, but where else don't they usually stay? Are there any value or moderate level resorts that remain free of Pop Warner participants?

When I was there this past Dec. 06 We stayed at the ASSports and that is where they usually stay. I do know of some teams staying at moderate resorts as well. I also heard the horror stories, but we encountered none at all. The parks were kinda empty due to all day competition/s and football games, but not that bad at nite either.

The boys generally aren't much of a big deal. The cheerleaders on the other hand are a different story. Maybe it's because I didn't have daughters, but it does get real tiring watching the girls walk everywhere cheering. In the parks, on the dock at WL, at the bus stop. There's a time and place for everything. Too bad some of the chaperones don't get that concept.

They stay at ASSports, Pop Century and then the overflow goes to POFQ. That is how we got upgraded to WL last year. We had ressies at POFQ and we received an e-mail asking if we would be willing to move to WL that they had overbooked the resort for Pop Warner.

We were at POFQ this past december and when we checked in I asked to make sure we were not near any, and the front desk said the groups were not there, they were staying at the Riverside.

Granted I am sure there may have been some with their parents, but no groups and we never saw any groups there at all. We did see groups at Riverside as our bus would drive around their stops.

Yikes.... I think I should change my ressie to CSR I don't want to take the risk.

That's exactly what we did last year. We had reservations at POR but heard they were going to be there and changed to CSR. There was a convention of children there, chess teams. It was lovely. Lots of quiet, calm, intelligent children. We only saw them going in and out of the convention center and walking to and from el centro. I highly recommend going to CSR during the chess championship.

Actually there's probably not a time that some children's sports activity isn't going on in the Disney area. My nephew has Nationals for soccer the end of July & they normally stay either in All Stars or Pop. Also the spring has Twirlmania for the baton twirlers from all over, but I'm not sure where they stay. Spring also had cheerleaders all over POR when we were there. :cheer2: Good luck!!

Children playing chess....now that I can handle. It's not that we don't want to be with children at all..... its just the cheerleaders. Sorry... we had a HORRIBLE experience back in Feb of 2003 with them. Thanks for the heads up... *on my way to change resorts*

We were there in Dec 04 and 05 at the CBR and there were Pop Warner kids there...they did not bother us much but first thing in the am the food court was a nightmare.
