Pop Warner in Dec questions

We just booked a five night stay at the Polynesian starting December 6th, I got tickets for MVMCP for the 9th already as well, so changing our dates would be a bit costly since those have been purchased. My question is, since the Pop Warner football events begin on Sunday the 7th and the Dance/Cheerleader events look like they are beginning on Wednesday the 10th. Not to mention any lingering Mousefesters staying an extra few days... bottom line... how unhappy with the crowds should I expect to be? LOL

Our last trip was Nov 2002 and we managed to hit NJ school vacation week and Soap weekend and it was pretty darn crowded! I was hoping for less crowds this time, will I be lucky?

I have no idea what to expect with either of these events so any answers you might be able to share will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Don't stress over it. I have been in December over the same time as the RADP meets, DIS-CON, and Pop Warner. The crowds are minimal. Realize that the Mousefesters are a fraction of the people who will be at WDW. Pop Warner kids will mostly be at WWS. Truthfully, had I not read on these boards that the Pop Warner kids are there in December, I never would have known as I never saw them.

Good for you staying at the Polynesian. Pop Warner generally takes over the All Stars (Music and Sports mostly). And they might move over to Pop Century next year.

The events for Pop Warner and the Cheerleaders are at WWoS and not in the parks. Their days will be full with that. When we went in 1996 and stayed at the ASSp it was miserable but at the Poly you should be fine. We'll be there the same time as you.

I was there last December. We went to MVMCP on 12/8, Pop Warner and DISCON were there during our vaction. I felt no impact at all. In fact, my then 3yo Dumbo lover hardly had to wait on line at all. The worst it was for us was 15 min.

Don't worry about it. Go and have a great time. It is a wonderful time to visit. All of the decorations and holiday music gets you in the spirit.

Your vacation will be fine and you won't even hardly notice they are there. We were there last year and in the parks the kids were all relatively well behaved. I will take issue with their behavior at the resort though. They thought they owned the place. This is at the All-Stars (Sports) mind you so you don't have to worry about it. But I swore I would never go during Pop Warner again without staying at a moderate or deluxe and that won't happen because I love the All-Stars and all we do is sleep and shower at the hotel. Anyway - anyone reading this that is planning on staying at an All-Stars - be prepared. One child would be in line at the Food Court and 10 would walk up and expect to get in line with the one child - my husband and I always spoke up and told them there was a line and they would quit - but I'm sure there were a lot of innocent vacationers who got walked on. Not to mention they were having a birthday party in the food court one evening and running wild. They had some type of noisemaker and they were using them. I thought this was in horrible taste and some of the parents needed a lesson in consideration. Kids will be kids and they should have a good time - but noisemakers in the food court crossed the line between having a good time and being annoying. I will say there was one football team that my hat goes off to. The coach had control of those boys - and it didn't seem like they had a lot of parents with them. They ate as a team and I saw them in the parks as a team. That coach knows a thing or two about athletics and teaching the children all they can learn from being a part of a team - sorry I can't remember which team it was but if you're reading this and you had a team there that ate together - and all had the same very healthy chicken meal then "You are doing a GREAT job".

You guys have managed to reassure me completely, thank you so much! We're bringing my inlaws, who are less than Disney enthusiasists! (Can you imagine!?!)

They (and us, of course) will be much happier with thinner crowds! Thanks so much for your help!
