FYI:

Just thought I'd pass along some info about the Pop Warner "Super Bowl" in December. The event is being held from December 7th-13th.

Packages for the teams are being offered at All Stars Resorts and CBR.

Hope this hasn't been posted already (search function was down) ;)

Hopefully, we will be one of the teams to make it--keep your fingers crossed for us! I really need a Disney fix!:D

Thanks for the info. We will be there at this time and are staying at POR.

I hope your team makes it!! What fun that would be!!

When do you have time to go to the parks during this event?

My poor daughter, I keep telling her it's her responsibility, and that of her teammates, to get us all to WDW!!!!! We want to go so badly! Regionals are Nov. 22...fingers crossed!

Musicmom3, you made me laugh out loud. I can just see it now:

"Now honey, you know we REALLY want to go to WDW. Get out there and win, win, win so Santa will bring you something nice!!"
hehe

I hope everyone that is participating gets to go down and have a blast. I was there in 98 with the cheerleading squad. We had a great time!!:)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you goofyfordisney and you do the same for me, my son's team is 3 games away from going (last year we got all the way to only 1 game away and lost:( I hope to see you there!:teeth:

Kevs mom & musicmom3-

Got my fingers crossed for all of us! Good luck! We are 3 games away from going to Orlando also & our Jr. Pee Wee Cheerleaders have 1 more competition.

It's hard to not talk about going to WDW around my son--too much pressure!!

Regardless of if they win or lose--we will be getting our disney fix--our family was already planning a Disneyland trip for December!

We're scheduled for a week at the Dolphin in July--but that doesn't stop me from saying "point your toes for Disney!" when I watch my daughter jump! She rolls her eyes, but the team wants to go more than even I do. Everybody agrees--it is impossible to have too much of a good thing! Fingers are crossed for everybody! I hope we all get to go!!!!

Well "goofyfordisney" and "musicmom3" I'm sorry to say that my son's team lost yesterday and we are done:( At least we will still be going as a family in January so I have that to look forward too (although having to wait only 4 more weeks as compared to 11 more weeks got my hopes way up!) I still have my fingers crossed for you guys though - keep me posted!:earsboy:

My daughter has 1 more competition in Michigan then hopefully we're off to WDW. This is the first year for us so I have a question. I know the park hoppers that come with the pop warner package have expiration dates, but any idea when they expire? Also, can you change them in for annual passes like regular park hoppers?? Thanks for the info!!

Well good luck to your daughter too babynurse31! Only one more to go, that must be exciting :) I don't know the answer to your question about the hopper passes as we have never made it to Orlando YET with our team, I just wanted to wish you luck!

Oh, so sorry KevsMom! That is so hard! But look on the bright side...you just have that much more uninterrupted time to plan for your family trip!!!!!

I can't answer the question about the package park hoppers, because we have never been fortunate enough to go to WDW with Pop Warner--I hope somebody else can help with the info.

Well, we lost our game on Saturday--no scores for either team till the 4th quarter--thought we we were going to go into overtime! But the other team scored a touchdown and that was it! It was a great game. Most of the kids really had no idea of the stakes involved in them winning this game--I think they were great sports and were back to being normal, goofy 10 & 11 year old boys once the game was over!

Now, we can concentrate on our December trip to DL!:D

Good luck babynurse31 and musicmom3! Hope you go all the way!:D

P.S. babynurse31--I'm assuming the hoppers are LOS passes--I think they expire at the end of your trip. I am not sure though.

Im sorry to the parents whose kids are not going to Disney . :( good luck to the parents still waiting ot see if they are going!! :)
Im bummed my DD squad is not going ot Disney (just Universal and Tampa) but the Junior and Senior squads are going so I guess there is allways next year!!:)
Im laughing at the "point your toes" coomment, this weekend is my DD first every competition (she is on a pee wee squad) and she is so excited and nervous and Im such a pain telling things like dont forget to smile, and point your toes!! lol :)

Well, we lost our game on Saturday.
Hello Goofyfordisney. My co-workers son also lost their game and will not be going to WDW. I think she is relieved!!! I am sorry you will not be going.
Good luck to everyone else.:)

Babynurse31,

My daughter is also going to be competing in Michigan 11/29 for a chance to go to Disney.

She has been SOOO fortunate the past 4 years and has earned a trip with each of the cheer squads she has been on. At age 8, in her first year in cheerleading when her team won the chance to compete and nationals at WDW, she was so excited because she had never been to Disney before in her life. That was a wonderful time and a great treat!

I did not accompany her last year, but did go the previous 3 years. If I remember right, the park hoppers are not LOS because you can buy either a 4- or 5- day park hopper with your stays of 3,4,5 nights. The park hoppers DO expire though so they are not like regular ones. I think that they expired in 10 days.

If you have any other questions about this Pop Warner package, I will try to answer.

p.s. What is your daughter's squad name and what level? I will look for her in Ypsalanti at the Regionals.

My daughter's squad is in the Jr Pee Wee division. This is their first year as a squad. We were very excited and shocked when they took first place at the local competition. Her squad name is Lees Summit Tigers from Lee's Summit, MO. What level does your daughter compete in?

One more question for you, if we decide to extend our stay and I book room only reservations at this same resort as our package will I get to stay in the same room?

Thanks and good luck to your daughter in Michigan.

hmmm. Not sure about that one.

The way that our team is handling reservations, should we advance to nationals, is the coach is making the reservations for all of us (cheerleaders, coaches, and family/friends). We are planning on staying for 4 nights with a 4-day park hopper.

They offer a 3,4, or 5 night package at All-Stars or Carribean Beach Resort with either a 4-day or 5-day park hopper.

Maybe that would let you customize it to your needs.

The way I see it the difference between a 3-, 4-, and a 5-night pkg. at the CBR is $37 per person per night (with a max. of 2 adults in a room) for a total of $148 per room for the extra night.

The All-Stars is $22 per person per night (with a max. of 2 adults in a room) for a total of $88 per room for the extra night.

The reason I mention the 2 adult limit is because there is an extra charge per night for each adult over 2 in each room. I think the All-Stars is $10/adult per night and CBR is $15/adult per night over the 2 adult max.

Did I totally over-answer your question and confuse you!?

I got the price info at the www.popwarner.com website. Click on "Forms" and then download "2003 national champs advisor manual" (I think that is the wording)

If you have any questions about extending past the 5-night package, talk to Disney Sports Travel, 407/939-7810 (be careful, long distance call). The package is only available through them.

btw- My daughter is on the Bolingbrook Trojans Midget Large squad. I will cheer good and loud and keep my fingers crossed for the Lee Summit Tigers Jr. PeeWee team. (My daughters first team was a Jr. PeeWee squad.)

Thanks for your help, I guess I need to make a list of questions and call Disney sports and get answers. I just want to be prepared as much as possible!!

I'll be rooting for your daughters squad!! Good Luck to all those still in the running!!

I know that a family extended their stay when we were there in 2000 and their room was far from the rest of the team at the hotel, All Star Sports. We were also there in 2001!!

The following I know for a fact: all reservations must be made by the Cheer Commissioner of your organization. Disney only wants to deal with one person! They also charge a lot for any changes made, so think it through! The hopper passes do expire very quickly (I think at the end of your stay)! The hoppers include a four or five day hopper (which ever you choose), three, four or five nights, (you choose) one water park or one day at Disney Quest AND you get a special admission ticket for the Pop Warner Party at MGM on 12/12. :sunny: It is a wonderful experience that EVERY Pop Warner cheerleader should experience!! :goodvibes

This year I have two daughters that have qualified for Regionals!! (Eastern Region on 11/22 - Pee Wee Small - 1st place at locals and states; and Jr. Pee Wee Large - 2nd place at locals and states!) Currently it is looking great for the Pee Wee and looking "hopeful" for the Jr. Pee Wee, hey, ya never know!!! We have to go head-to-head with "Jersey Shore"!! We can take them, we've done it before!!

Good luck to your daughter!!! Hope her team does well!!

We have a family vacation planned for 11/29 to 12/7!! We just might end up extending our vacation if the girls qualify for Nationals!!! :teeth:

Go Stephanie! :earsgirl:
Go Shannon! :earsgirl:
