With the VISA discount we can upgrade to the POR or POFQ for the same price as our preferred rooms at the POP. We have 4 young children...6, 4, 4, 4. We are getting 2 rooms as my parents are going, so just 4 in each room.

Are bus stops close at the POR/POFQ? Is there a place that we could use snack credits from the DDP for breakfast some mornings?

THanks again for help!

I am staying for the first time at POP for a quick 4 day trip with my DD but when we go as a family we usually stay at a mod because the kids love the pool slides and hot tubs. POR is a very nice resort and I hear POFQ is great for smaller kids because of the theme of the pool area and it is a smaller resort. Either one of those I'm sure would be good and you can use the facilities at both anyway. They both have boat transportation to DTD which is a very nice ride and both have food courts, grab n go to use your snack credits and POR also has a TS restaurant. If you are getting a mod for close to the price of a value I would definitely stay at a mod and your parents would probable enjoy a moderate a little more. Have a great time!

We have stayed at all three. Your kid's will love the Pop's theme! So much to see. We were there in the summer and had no trouble with bus transport. There were 4 of us in the room (2 kids; 12 years old). There was enough room for us and all our stuff. Only one sink, but the nice thing about having 2 rooms is the extra bathroom (if you can get connecting rooms).

The rooms at the POR and POFQ are larger, and of the two, I prefer POFQ. I like the smallness of the resort. Easy to walk, and no room seemed too far away from the main building. My daughter loved the pool with serpent slide. If I recall correctly, the same bus serviced both resorts, and it was slow and packed. We ended up using our car to go to the parks. We have stayed in both sections of POR, and prefer the Antebellum (?) as it was closer to the main building. There are several bus stops, so it takes awhile to get in and out of the resort. The resort is larger, and it can be a hike to the main building. POR does have a sit down restaurant. Both have food courts.

I may have confused the issue, but with the ages of your kids, I would go with the Pop. The icons were fun and my DD loved them! Everything is bright and eye-catching. The pool was large and was enjoyed by my DD and her friend.

I hope this helps! Have fun! We will be back at the Pop Labor Day!:yay:

The six of us stayed in one room; we officially counted as 5 because our youngest was only 1 year old. The room was a little tight, especially with the trundle pulled out, but we did just fine.

Stayed in Alligator Bayou and were very happy (didn't like the other side). The grounds are very beautiful. Our kids our nature lovers and they loved the marshes, the trails, the birds, being on the river, etc. The pool was great fun, as was the playground. I think a lot depends on what kind of things your kids are into. If they particularly love nature and walking on trails, they'll love POR. The trails meander A LOT and getting from Point A to Point B takes longer than you might think. If you don't mind that, great. If you do mind that, probably not great.

We loved taking the boat to DTD and did so a few times. We also took it to POFQ once for breakfast. We didn't like POFQ much at all for the same reason that a lot of people prefer it - things were too close together for us.

Bus transportation was easy and fine, but on our late night back from MK, it was a long walk back to our room with three sleeping children!

no choice for me i would stay at po riverside we stayed at pop past feb to noisy , no slides in pool food court was a stampede never ever again

Go for the upgrade!! I LOVE the moderate resorts and so do my kids! We have stayed at POR twice and it is fabulous! We're trying POFQ in February and can't wait! These resorts are sooo nice I can't believe you're questioning whether to switch or not. Your parents will surely like either of the Port Orleans resorts better trhan Pop and I bet your kids will love them too!:thumbsup2
