Pop vs Caribbean?

We have a one night stay to book and we've narrowed it down to Pop and Caribbean. We haven't ever stayed at either, so I was looking for input. We have stayed at most deluxes, a few DVC, Port Orleans- Riverside, and Coronado.

You aren't comparing apples to apples here. Pop is a value, Carribean a moderate. The differences: Values have uncovered bus stops with actual rope lines, moderates have covered bus stops but no lines so when the bus arrives it every man for himself. Probably a pro for values there, even though the stops are uncovered.

Pools: Pop has 3 pools, the "main" pool and two smaller "quiet" type pools. No hot tubs at any. Moderates have the main pool with a hot tub and at least two "quiet" pools located at the villages. No hot tubs at the quiet pools. I would give the advantage to moderates on the pools. They seems a little less busy and have a little better theming.

Both have outside hallways. Both Pop and Carribean have recently been renovated. The rooms are slightly larger at Carribean than Pop. Both located on Skyliner if that's a thing for you. Pop only has bus service to HS and Epcot once per hour since they have the Skyliner, I'm not sure if that applies to Carribean. Carribean is within walking distance/on same property as Riviara resort so access to higher quality food.

So, you need to decide what is more important. For one night if you aren't going to be in the room or on the resort that much, if the price is less, I'd go with Pop simply because it's just one night. For a longer stay, I'd go with Carrabean because I'd assume you might be spending a little more resort time.

With one night, it really depends on what you plan to do. Is this a one night stay before a longer stay elsewhere on property? Will you arrive early, midday, early evening? Is this a one night trip that includes park time? What are the ages of the people in your party? And how many people will there be in your room?

If you plan to spend a fair amount of time at the resort or in your room, CBR has larger rooms and more amenities on site. If you are going to be in a park most of the time just want a bed to sleep in, I'd go with Pop to save money. Older kids might enjoy the more adult theming of CBR...but they might like the over-the-top theming of Pop (you know them best...my younger teenagers asked me to please not stay at Pop for more than a night again, lol). Basically, it depends on what your travel party will want to do/like best. But CBR offers more on-site amenities, larger rooms, more adult theming, and more buses (as it is more spread out). Pop's rooms are smaller and less expensive (but more recently renovated) with fewer on-site amenities and a single bus loading area.

Both are on the skyliner, so you get that at either if you will be hitting Epcot or DS or dining there or around the Boardwalk.

Edited to add: we're tacking a few nights onto a longer stay in a Poly studio. I have CBR reserved to try out the skyliner over Pop and AoA because we really do appreciate the more relaxing theming at mods over values, and enjoy access to more amenities.

Since it’s only one night, I’d pick the one that interests you most. Again it also depends on how many people in the room and if you’ll be at the parks all day or enjoying a resort day. And your ETA. If you are arriving late, or will be in the parks all day, POP. If you’re planning on hanging out and having a Resort day, CBR.

We've stayed at both and Pop would def. get our vote. CBR is one of the only resorts we have no desire to ever stay at again. In my opinion it's just a pain and too big.

My feelings exactly. I did not find CBR to be worth the cost difference. I actually prefer POP to it.

IMO...a one night stay I would go with the lowest price option. However, there are a lot of variables, as has been previously mentioned. If I were going to be spending the bulk of the time at the resort I would spend the extra money on a mod but it wouldn't be CBR.

I would say Pop, unless you plan to stay that the resort all day and use the pool and dining.

CB pool has a slide. </list of things that are better at CB>
We moved from CB to AoA (POP's sister resort on the other side of the lake) on our last trip and LOVED it! We were worried about the buses @ the "value" resort - they were great! The food court also exceeded expectations, and we found the front desk staff to be really helpful. POP and AoA are +Value resorts, nearly Moderates.

Meanwhile, over at CB...
The place is VERY spread out and you will need to take a bus, or a lengthy walk to do anything. The internal buses takes as long as the resort buses. There are smaller quick service food places scattered throughout but we found those to be seriously lacking - NOT Disney quality and very little selection. Some will say the layout of CB adds to the laid-back atmosphere - yeah, OK, whatever.

The Skyliner will get you to CB from POP if you really want to see it, but stay at POP, even if it costs more.

I guess it depends on your room at CBR. I’ve been lucky and had a room close to the foot bridge and was quite close to everything. Never had to use the internal bus.
The renos at CBR are done so no more multiple scattered QS places. That was temporary. There is one satellite QS in Trinidad now that gets rave reviews.

I’ve had 2 stays at Pop, one a quite convenient location, and my last one was far from everything. I didn’t like the quiet pools at Pop. they were devoid of landscapping and was just a cement pond. I missed a hot tub.
