I am planning a trip and have never stayed at a Value-- always Moderates-- I am most interested in the themes of the Movies and POP-- can you compare the two? just on basics-- other than transportation ( we drive everywhere) Cast- Me, DH, and DD -4 and a half

I mainly want to know about:
1-room size at each
2-how mnay sinks
3-double or queen beds ( we need 2 beds) not a king
4- food courts
5- noise levels

Any info from some vets of the values is appreciated-- thanks ::MickeyMo

Well, I can't help you out as I have never stayed at either of those two resorts, but you should be able to find the answers to some of your questions by looking at the pics on allearsnet.com.

I'm not sure what the room sizes are, I'm positive they are the same size between the Pop and Movies.

1 sink, both resorts

2 double beds, both resorts

I personally liked the selection of food at the Movies better than the Pop. But there are a lot of people out there who feel differently. Go to allearsnet.com go to dining and then menus and find the two resorts it will tell you their menus. But they are both roughly the same type of cafetaria. Pop century has frozen drink things you can get with your refillable mugs though!

They are both noisy. But the pop century is taller, so maybe if you stay on the 4th floor it wont be so loud. ;)

I've never stayed at any of All Stars but I've stayed at Pop and we loved it.
The bus service is better because there is no sharing and I believe the All Stars share buses. Pop was clean and really a wonderful atmosphere, in fact we were going to stay there again but were able to go deluxe. Wanted to take advantage of that while we can afford it. Anyway the kids were upset at first because they wanted to stay at Pop again. We will stay there again I'm sure. :wave2:

I've stayed at both. It's hard to say which one I liked better. The rooms were pretty much the same, but the PC TV was bigger, and I believe there was more drawer space there as well. The food court at ASMO was better, with more choices. But the layout of the buildings at PC seemed designed to make everything pretty close to the food court/lobby building. Yet I think ASMO had better parking. I would say that my young children didn't "get" most of the references at PC, but they did recognize the characters at ASMO.

I'm not sure if that was helpful or not, but those are just some random thoughts!

I have stayed at the All Stars and I liked it very much. so much we are going to try the POP this year. they are kinda small but unless you plan on spending a lot of time in the room it does not matter.

I think your other questions have been answered. I think they are very good places to stay!

We have stayed at the various All Stars and POP. ASMo is our favorite. The room size and number of sinks (1) is the same. The beds are double beds. The food courts at POP and ASMo are both very good. We were a little disappointed with POP because of the noise level. By the look of the depth of the wall safe, the walls at POP appear to be thinner. We were in the remote 90's area and could still hear everything going on around us in other people's rooms. The beds also didn't feel quite as comfortable as those at ASMo. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

We just returned from a week at Pop. Have previously stayed at All Star Music. The rooms are basically the same. Although others have reported lots of noise at Pop, we never had any problems with noise and it was completely full - I know cause we tried to arrive one night earlier and it was booked. What I liked best about Pop was the distance from all rooms to the main hall -we stayed in the 70's, blding 6, which was closest to the parking lot and we had no more than a 3 or 4 minute walk. What I really hated about Pop was the return bus service from the parks - there was always a line up. The night of EMH at MK the line was all through the quene area and down the entire bus stop area - Pop was the last bus stop and our line went by all the other quene areas (about 6 of them) which included the All Stars, which I noticed never had a line that wouldn't fit on one bus. I had lots of time to watch this as we had to wait about 45 minutes to get on a bus! We went to MK on a non EMH night and had to wait for the 3rd bus and that was leaving about 3 hours before the park closed.

If I were to go again in the near future I would choose All Stars and request a building close to the main hall.

Did you notice waiting longer for a table or in line for food at the food court at Pop over the All Stars?

Also was the bus wait only longer at the MK? Or was it the same at MGM or Epcot? I think the All Stars all have individual busses from MK but not at the other parks. So that might be why they seemed to go faster. :flower:

Pop also has a dedicated bus which runs only to Pop. I think it was so much busier because it was full to capacity, being the newest resort, and maybe the All Stars weren't full. But the whole place was extremely busy even though it was supposed to be one of the least busiest times of the year to visit. I usually visit WDW in the fall and have never experienced crowds such as this at any other time! Pop did bring in extra buses the night of EMH, one every few minutes, but still, I hate waiting in line after walking all day in the parks and then having to stand up for the 1/2 hour drive to the resort.

As for the food court, if you hit it early the lines were ok. After the parks closed the lines weren't that bad, but try to find a table. I didn't have this problem at ASMu, but again, it was MUCH busier this time.

Haven't stayed at All Stars, just POP, but here are some things that others who have stayed at all of the All Stars and POP have mentioned to me:

POP soundproofing between rooms seems to be better than All Stars.

POP nightstand between the two double beds is at the proper height--no banging one's head on the nightstand while sleeping!

Those are personal opinions of 7 people.

I didn't find POP to be particularly noisy (November 30 - December 9, 2004)--and that was with Pop Warner and cheerleaders on site!. I was in the 50s, facing Hourglass Lake (overlooking the unfinished section of POP) and away from the pool. There were families with children on each side of me and I never heard a peep from them at night! :) You will hear sounds from people outside walking to and from their rooms, depending on how courteous they choose to be. Other than the occasional child in melt-down mode (heard that at the Deluxe resorts too, so it isn't unique to Value resorts!) or someone bellowing to others in his party, or the occasional gaggle of teens (and they were trying to be considerate, particularly at night), it wasn't any noisier than a corridor at YC.
