POP vs ASM

Ok I can't seem to make a decision myself, so I thought I'd get opinions. We are going to WDW during free dining and have several options of what we are going to do. I've narrowed it down to two I believe. Ok so obviously I'm deciding between ASM and Pop Century.

Here are some of the backstory details.

It will be me, my husband, seven year old son and 2 year old daughter.
We have stayed at Pop Century and offsite only
I love LOVE the lake to run around every morning and always feel safe doing it. Running in the morning or evening is a big part of my vacation.

ASM would be 11/26-12/5
Pop would be 12/8-12/17

The biggest issue is 1. I'm not sure which dates I would rather 2. Our Pop Century reservation is actually two reservations, and to get the free dining had to get two different packages (so a lot more money)

We are going to upgrade out passes to AP either way, but staying at Pop would still cost us way more up front (but less in future years I guess b/c we will have the "extra" 2 day hopper. I currently have the trip broken up into an 6 day hopper and a 2 day.

I am a creature of habit, so am drawn more to Pop, but do think it will be fun to try out ASM

My biggest concerns are 1. Will it be as nice as Pop 2. Shared busses 3. No running path

Plus ASM seems to be so many people's least favorite, which worries me. We aren't hard to please really. CLEAN is my number 1, and safe. Plus fun for the kids since they do like swimming and all that (if you can even swim in December - we've only been in September and May).

I've stayed at both, and they're similar. Cleanliness and safety should be the same. Shared buses weren't a huge deal at ASM, but it was nice to take the AoA bus back from the parks when the Pop lines were long. I don't know about a running path at ASM, or any Disney resort, because I end up walking 15-20 miles per day in the parks.

Might be enough of a reason to pay more for Pop I'm guessing that could get crowded.

- POP was not one of their resorts last year.
- Dates wise POP would be less time if any stayed there.
- It also gives you access to the AoA food court which is good, and never has groups stay.
