Pop up in premium loop

Hi. Putting together a last min trip for mid July. Originally was going for the full loops but wife is able to get a discount on the preferred which will be about $250 cheaper than full. Being in a pop up I like my 'space' and shade. Going through google maps it looks like the fulls, 1600 through 1900 have more space between each site and are more off the beaten path. Besides the $$ savings, will I be disappointed based on this criteria. Are they really closer sites, more noise up there (closer to the main road).
Thanks!!

If you want larger premium sites look at 1100. They are not pet sites. I also think you won't be disappointed with any loop.

Well the biggest thing missing will be the sand/coquina.

Don't expect you will deal with any worse things like noise. At least no more than any other site. I would expect it to be less. Partially because the Louder "Party" folks tend to save the money for the Party and go for the "Cheaper" sites where premium generally is more expensive and has a different crowd. This isn't always the case though. I don't think you will be too disappointed though.

I had my popup in 400 loop a few years ago. The site felt HUGE and we had TONS of space even with the tow vehicle on the site.

Some sites are closer together and some aren't.

What you lose in possible road noise or shade you make up for in convenience/location generally. If you get there and are assigned a site and don't like its location but spot a few you do like, check back with the office and see if they can move you to your desired site.

Crud, crud crud..... I meant PREFRRED, not Premium. See what happens when you type before morning coffee. And yes, we like quiet.

So it would be the 100,200,300 loops.

Thanks for the replies.

flash,

I think you need another cuppa joe. Preferred is missing a letter e above. :teeth:

If you look at my signature I've had my popup in a Preferred for three of the last four trips (the missing trip I had reserved a Preferred but it was full so they put me in a Premium across the street which was okay). But I wasn't at WDW in the summer.

Note that 300 is a pet loop so it's likely you'll be in 100 or 200.

Given your criteria for a shady and quiet site, 100 or 200 generally don't fall into that category. Of course a few sites have lots of trees but IMHO (and you paid nothing for it) generally speaking 100 and 200 are more "out there". All the sites have SOME shade in SOME direction but generally it's not all day mostly shaded as some other loops are (if that's what you are looking for).

As far as noise, I have a different take on that point. I like the Preferreds BECAUSE of the noise. I like to hear the faint boat whistles/horns from the nearby pier as they come in and out all day. Occasionally you can hear the steam whistle of the MK train. Music from the EWP at night is not faint. The occasional rumble of the busses tells me I'm at WDW.

In 100/200 sites tend to be a little closer together as they are in some of the Premiums (1400 comes to mind).

Just my take on your question as a fellow popup owner.

PS - Going in July you say? Hope the AC in the popup is working well.

Thanks Bama...am drinking it now! :drinking:

We are going to 'request' the 300 loop since it looks like more sites are shaded and not as much on top of each other as the 100, 200 loops. Even though the pop-up has shower/toilet I assume the comfort stations will be empty in those loops since it's mostly the big guys.

Yes, the AC works like a champ. When we went years ago the last 3 days were close to 100.

I think 300 is a good strategy for maximum chance of a shaded site in a Preferred. :thumbsup2
