I am leaving soon (okay, 9 days, 11 hours and 12 minutes :cool1: ) and am staying at Pop. I want to try the Kona Cafe for breakfast on a day that I'm going to Epcot. I have a few questions:

How do I get there? Both MK and Epcot open at 9, so I want to get to Kona by 7 or so. Can I take a bus to MK then monorail to the Poly? Do I need to take a taxi?

Is it worth it? I want to try the Tonga Toast I've been hearing about forever. And, I love coffee, so I want to try the Kona coffee.

Maybe I should settle for Pop's breakfast -- I love a Mickey waffle too.

Help! :rotfl2: I know, some folks have all the problems.

When I stayed at the poly 10 years ago, my DW and I had breakfast there a few times. We both found the signature item tonga toast to be a little sweet for our tastes (and I have a sweet tooth). But we saw lots of other people enjoying it, especially kids. We both really liked the other breakfast fare though. I can't speak for the bus to MK, but the monorail portion of that route is quick and convinient. My wife is a coffee nut and she found the coffee at the Kona was the perfect way to start the day. It is may be the best coffee at disney.

Thanks, larryllama -- I think I'll go ahead and make the ADR and then worry about how to get there.

Can't wait to taste the coffee -- it sounds great!

Kona at 7AM? Take a cab. Plan to arrive about 10 minutes early.

The resort monorail typically begins operation at 7AM.

Is it worth it? Yes, but only if you're planning to go to MK or Epcot afterward. The breakfast is great, but making a separate trip for it is perhaps not worth the trouble. Epcot is very easy to get to from the Polynesian. The Epcot monorail is only a 5-minute walk away.

I agree with erikthewise, take a cab! It is worth if if your going to MK or Epcot cuz you can quickly take the monorail to the park and then the bus back to your resort at the end of the day.

Kona doesn't open until 7:30 last I knew. But that is plenty of time for a leisurely breakfast before going to MK or Epcot. We've done just that so many times that I won't even venture a guess on the count.

Take the MK bus. Then hop on the resort monorail which begins running at 7am as Eric stated.

After breakfast, walk right out onto the monorail if going to MK. If you decide on Epcot, walk over to the TTC and catch the Epcot monorail. Taking the resort monorail around the whole circuit and transferring will eat up quite a bit of time.

Thanks, all! I made my ADR today -- the earliest I could get was 7:40, but I think that still gives me plenty of time to finish and get to whichever park I decide to go to that day.

Thanks again for your help!
