DS14, DD10 and I will be eating at Hoop Dee Doo next month on our arrival day at POP. We are visiting relatives in FL that week and will be driving up to WDW, so we will have a car. It has been many years since I've been to Hoop Dee Doo (pre-kids.)

I know I can either drive to FW and then take the internal bus. Or, take the POP bus to MK and then take the boat. Which do you think is a better choice and how long would you allow for travel?

We are going to the 8:30 show and MK is open until 11:00 if that makes a difference.

I would drive just because the shared shuttle buses back to the resorts after the 8:30 HDDR show were the worst part of my vacation back in January. It seemed like I was on that bus for an eternity, and I generally have a high tolerance for bus rides.

Thanks for the input!:goodvibes

Anyone drive there? Simple enough? I am a bit directionally challenged, but I know WDW is pretty well marked.

It's not to hard to get to FW. We did miss our turn due to poor sign lighting at night. Since you are driving and will have a free parking pass parking at MK lot and catching the Boat across will be just as easy as driving and waiting for the bus at FW.

The boat can be easier since the show is just up the dock/walking path. We had a hard time finding the bus stop after the late show when we went.

It's not to hard to get to Fort Wilderness, but you have to park at the front entrance and take the internal-fort wilderness bus loop.

Hmmm - I'll make sure to have DS keep an eye out as well.
Years ago, I ended up at Ft. Wilderness when I was trying to drive to the TTC after Chef Mickey's.

How long did it take to get there, including the bus?

From Pop, just follow signs to MK. When you reach the MK toll plaza, head for one of the rightmost lanes (the far right one is for buses only). After the toll plaza, move iimmediately into the far right lane and take the right turn just past the toll plaza. After turning right, when you come to a left turn lane, take the left turn -- that's the FtW entrance.

Thanks!:)

I didn't realize you went through the MK toll plaza to get to FtW. This makes things a lot easier.

just watch for buses as you make the turn just past toll booth. you have to cross the bus lane to make the turn. thr Fort will be on your left and you can miss the turn.
