POP sold out June 4th

I called to try an add a day on to our existing reservation (June 5-12) and was told June 4th is sold out at POP! That makes me think those of us who are waiting for a code for early June might be out of luck.

If I'm not mistaken, that's the official day at MK for the GayDays event that runs that week in Orlando. I don't think that event alone would prevent discounting in June. It would create, however, room shortages - especially at resorts that have more capacity like the values.

We tried to adjust our room dates in June and also couldn't get anything. We ended up switching to August. June 4th is the MK day for GDs. There might be a lot of people staying on property. The official hotel is the Sheraton World near Sea World. It is a nasty place for the regular rooms. The tower area is pretty nice. The rates are really high. We got a priceline room there last year and it was awful. The grounds are gorgeous, but the regular rooms are nasty. Maybe lots of GD attendees are staying on property instead.

Just wanted to let you know that I just booked a standard room at Pop for the June 3rd and 4th. Try calling again, it seems that rooms are available.

Yeppers, rooms are still available as over about 40 minutes ago! The price right now (now discounts yet) is pretty steep - ~$110 including tax, but I am hoping for a FL resident or AP code. Historically there have always been codes in June, so lets hope the Mouse doesn't fail us this year!

Nifty! What part of Tampa? We actually live in Clearwater, which is just west of Tampa.
