POP room request help

I need some help with our room in early September.


4 nights with FD at POP, booked a preferred room.


I know that the preferred rooms can change and what was considered preferred may have changed during the current refurbishments.


The things I want most for our location would be close to the kiddie/hippy dippy pool and near the bridge to AoA so we can go visit the Nemo section on our "break" day (DS's FAVORITE movie).
So buildings 4 & 5 are where we'd most like to be.


My concern/questions are does anyone know if the bridge will be open in September yet and just a guess of where the refurbishments Could be in September?

I know latter is pretty much THE question of the moment so I don't have high hopes for a solid answer but I will happily take any insight I can get.

My crystal ball is broken, but based on the fact that they started with standard rooms, I'm going to guess that they are going to do all the standard rooms first, then all the preferred, then all the preferred pool view. And I'm going to guess that the preferred rooms won't be done by September, mostly because I'll be there in a preferred room then and I'd like a refurbished one...so most likely that will be impossible.

They started at the beginning of March with building 8 (90s) and it is still not done - rooms supposedly becoming available in June.

Reports say they started closing bldg 9 (80s) at the beginning of May. If that one takes 3 months, too, you're looking at August. My bet is that September construction will still be in the 80s. Best case scenario, maybe they will be as far as working on bldg 10 in the 70s.

One of our intrepid on-the-scene reporters on the POP Century Room Renovations thread talked to someone involved with the construction who said they are going in order from building to building, backwards through the decades, 90s 80s 70s 60s 50s with building 2 in the 50s (farthest north bldg) being last.

I'm anxious about the construction near the bridge for my trip next February; I love eating at AOA.

I think you should be fine requesting the 60's in early September.

Just for general information, what was considered preferred is and will continue to be considered preferred. The buildings aren't moving, and neither are the pools. Now, availability of a specific category 's a different story.
