Just back from a six night at Pop Century. This was our first on property stay, and we were so impressed!

1. The bus service was outstanding. The longest we waited was 10 minutes, and that was when we got to the stop just as the last bus was pulling away. Last night (saturday) at the Magic Kingdom, the busses were pulling up two at a time, literally as soon as the first two pulled out, two more pulled up. It appeared they were staging them to the side in order to deal with the mass crowds.

2. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we sleep on a top of the line Sealy pillow top at home, so this is really saying something. We stayed one night at the Shearaton Safari in their sweet sleeper beds before we checked in, and I actually think the Pop Beds were more comfortable.

3. The air conditioning, while motion activated, stayed cold enough that I had to use the comforter at night. :goodvibes

4. The service was Disney all the way. I purchased a salad from the cooler, and happened to mention to my husband while we were paying that the only thing it lacked was crutons. The cashier piped in, " Hang on, I can get you crutons!" and proceeded to fly over to the station that makes the Cesar salads and get me a container of crutons, no charge! On our check out day, I asked for some of the small bags for my mom to put the treats she bought for her class, I offered to pay for them, of course! Not only did the cashier give me the bags with a smile and no charge, but he threw in a bunch of stickers for the children also!

5. This place was almost spotless, and if it weren't for careless smokers who feel it is appropriate to grind out their cigarette butts wherever the choose, it would have been spotless!

I could say sooo much more, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask, and YES the frozen Cokes were working during our entire stay!

We stayed ther in August and had a wonderful time ...can't say enough about it ! You get alot for your money and I'd stay there again !!! We've stayed at Moderates and Deluxes and I'd say you get the most for your money at POP...you still get that magical Disney feeling for alot less $$$.Hope to go again, someday :flower:

Oh YAY!!! My friends are leaving for Pop on Wednesday, I am so excited for them! We are trying to plan a trip next year for the wives and kids and Pop is probably where we are going to stay.

Thanks for the review!

We stayed there last week of August and loved it! Stayed in the 50's section upper level with a view of Spaceship Earth right out our door (hidden suprise!). The food court always seemed packed but it was pbbly because of the free dinning offer (Which was awesome!). I think I became addicted to the tie dye cheesecake, yummy!

We are staying at the boardwalk villas next March because we couldn't resist the value of it through points rental, but I will definately be staying at pop again. I'm sure the all-star resorts are great too, but I think I'll be sticking to Pop Century!

DanaHesson,

Glad to hear you had a wonderful time. How did you find the room size? How many were in your room? We are a family of 4 (me, dh, dd12 and dd7). I am wondering if we would be comfortable in a value. :flower:

We stayed for 6 nights in October @ POP and loved it! What a great value and stay for the $$

I will recommend POP to everyone I know...awesome!!

So glad to hear great things about POP since we just booked it for mid-January. :)
Now I am looking forward to it even more!

Thanks, Dawn

We were in a King. Building Six,room 6103.The Bigwheel was across from us and Mickey Phone right outside to the right, in front of the elevator area. There were big foosball men outside our door, and it was a VERY short walk to the mug refilling station  ! I would definently request this building again, though the one directly across from it would be just as good, especially if you are facing the inner courtyard. My parents were up one floor, and on the back side facing the lake in 6222, and they were very happy also.

I thought there was PLENTY of room with the king bed, but I could see where two doubles might get a little tight if you spend a lot of time in the room.

I WILL add that if you have children in the rooms next to yours, you may hear them, just as with any other hotel. We took a small white noise machine with us and only heard our neighbors one time. (they had a toddler, I saw her this morning when we checked out) I did not notice other rooms toilets flushing, however I did notice ours flushed rather loudly.

My husband and I are priceline people. Our last trip we paid $32.00 a night at the Wyndham on International Drive. We are CHEAP. We got ourselves a really nice deal this time with a pin code, and then lowered it even more with that mousesavers deal that came out last minute. We did six nights with dining and parkhopper tickets for $1200.00. This was my longest disney trip ever, and also my first on property stay (did I say that earlier?) That being said, I would pay the extra money (over what we could get on Priceline) to stay at Pop Century, even if it meant eating all counter service.

Dana Hesson,
So glad to hear about your great experience with POP. We will be arriving at POP in 17 days and are hoping for a great time like you. Did you request rooms together with your folks? We are traveling with my mom and her husband and I have requested connecting rooms because 2 of our kids will be staying in the room with them. I would hate for them to be on a different floor. Thanks, blessedby3

thanks for the review we are staying there for xmas and cant wait
mu dS6 picked it and is very excited

We are going to WDW for the first time ever in about 3 weeks. We are staying at Pop and it is sooo nice to read something nice about Pop! Thank you for sharing! :goodvibes

Yeah! Good to see more positive reviews about POP. We really loved it when we stayed there in September and glad you had a similar experience.

I completely agree....DH and I stayed at POP on our Honeymoon and we absolutely loved it....we are staying at All Star Music for our Anniversary trip in May, only because I want to see other resorts!

My 14yo DS and I stayed at Pop this past June and had a wonderful time - food court had a great selection of food, was never crowded, never had to wait for a bus (only had to stand on one once), checkin took 10 minutes, no noises from nearby rooms.

Preferred Pop over All-Stars, and we had done the All-Stars twice before.

We would go back in a second.

Michael

we had a "travel with" noted on our reservation. They had us booked into connecting rooms, but we had them switch it, because we both wanted king beds. They seem to try VERY hard to accomodate people. I would not worry too much, however it might not hurt to call a couple of days in advance and let them know your particular situation.....

Thank you for the great review of POP! I will be staying there in Dec. I hope we have a great time there!

Did they charge extra for the king? I was told by dreammakers if we wanted to book a king bed it would be something like $15 more a day?

at the pop century. From what I understand, you CAN guarantee a king at the moderate resorts, and I THINK the Disney website only charges $10.00, but it would be easy enough for you to check that....
Pop does not charge extra.
