Staying at Pop for the first time and have a couple of questions.

1. Is the 50's (Lady & the tramp) building non-smoking?
2. Are there connecting rooms in this building?
3. Is there a parking lot close to this building (we are renting a car)?
4. How far is a pool from here?
5. How hard is it to borrow a luggage cart from the bell desk? Is there a charge?
6. How is the bus service (we may split up)? How long does it take to get to the parks? Does it share with another resort?
7. How is the food in their foodcourt?
8. We arrive around noon at the resort. How is the check-in process? Is it long?
9. Do they accept room request faxes here?

1. The 50's building does have non-smoking rooms. I stayed in one in building C this last July.
2. They do have connecting rooms. The room I was in was a connecting room (rm. 3102)
3. The closest parking lot was in the 50's parking lot almost the very last lot in the back (there was one more large area that looked like it had just been added). It was a quick walk past the pool and through the juke box to the lot. It only took a few minutes to get there.
4. The pool is just a few steps from any of the 50's building. Our room was looking out on the pool. (it was considered a water view) We never heard our neighbors or anyone else even though we were facing the pool on the first floor.
5. It's not hard at all to borrow a cart. There was no charge, but you did have to leave a credit card # as a deposit if you didn't return the cart. I have never understood why anyone would want one of these carts!
6. The bus service was great. The longest wait we had was at the resort waiting for the DTD/TL bus. Pop doesn't share with any other resorts. The buses were always crowded first thing in the morning when going to the parks though. When we were there, it took about 5 minutes to get to MGM, 8-10 minutes to EPCOT, 12-15 minutes to MK, 20 minutes to AK/BB, and 15-20 minutes to DTD/TL. The times varied with when we went and what park came first.
7. We liked the food in the food court. It's typical food court fare with a few extras. The Mom's Night Out turkey special was great! Here's a place to find the menu for the food court:

8. It took us about 20 minutes to check-in at 5:00 because there were several people in front of us. The man who checked us in was very nice and did everything possible to help with our requests. There are lots of available CM's to check you in at the front desk.
9. I can't answer this question because I didn't fax a request. There is a fax number and it is 407-938-4040.

You would be surprised!!! I believe we've had 4 carts become "souveniers"

Hey Tyler....we'll be checking into "The Pop" on 9/2 for DD 7th birthday...I'll look for you. Thanks for all the wonderful info you have shared regarding PC. One question I wanted to ask is that we are going to be returning in Dec sans child and worried about cheerleading groups, etc at Pop during that time. Seems I remember a post of yours in the past stating that Pop is not intended to cater to groups...I guess I just wanted reassurance.
Thanks in advance, Anna

Thanks for all your responses. The only reason I was asking about the cart was that there will be 7 of us and with 3 kids, luggage, etc., it would be easier to grab a cart and throw everything on it to bring it from the car to the rooms.

Also was glad to hear that they were able to accomadate your requests. We did not have many, but 2 of the mandatory one's were non-smoking and connecting.

Thanks again!!

I wish I had known about the carts! Do you ask for them when you check in? I thought I was going to die lugging all of my stuff by myself to my room in May.

On top of that, I was perturbed at the fact that on two occasions, those people in the carts would watch me struggling and zoom by looking perturbed that I was slowing down their passage on the sidewalk!

Still learning,

We used the luggage "service" at Pop when we were there and found it very convenient and quick.

Use the luggage service and save your self the trouble of lugging your luggage! Just pull up under the portico and they will unload it from your car and it will be in your room very quickly. If your room isn't available yet they will hold it until it is and then deliver, same goes fro if you have time to wait aftercheck out. Very convenient!

Hey Chip n Dale,

Do you know if POP is going to be hosting any of the pop warner football groups? I plan on staying at the Contemporary if I can snag a FL resident or AP discount (which BTW, is driving me loony waiting), but if not, it might have to be 2 rooms at the POP.

Have you heard anything? I don't mind kids (I have 3 myself), I just don't want it to be chaotic. I was a preteen at WDW once, I remember how I was *shudder*

Thanks!

I :lovestruc WDW!
