POP Question...

Anyone know if the room ice buckets at POP can hold a water bottle or 2 to chill them. We're not going to have a frige, but would like to have some cold drinks. Thanks

I think it could hold one, not sure about two.

The bucket is not insulated, just thin plastic so the ice melts rather quickly.

(believe it or not) The trash pail (with the clean plastic bag of course), put in a bucket or two of ice, and there ya go! You still have a second trash can for trash.

Just a little note about using the ice bucket or garbage pail......be very sure to use a plastic liner before using it as a cooler. People will use these pails when they become ill in the hotel......if you know what I mean.


You can buy silver plastic cooler bags at most dollar stores. They are somewhat insulated so they will keep drinks cool for a good length of time. Most likely a morning and evening ice run will do the trick. Also, be sure to leave it in the bath tub so that you don't damage anything. The cooler will sweat as the ice melts.

Thanks for the ideas...the garbage pail idea sounded good at first, but after reading on, think I'll look around for my own insulated bag type thing and bring it!!!

We do this! If your worried about the plastic bags you could always bring some from your home!

As a quick edit I do spray the entire room with dissenfected as well as wipe down everything. I know a previous post made a very graphic image regarding the bins but if you think that way just imagine the stuff thats gone on in the beds, bathrooms, etc....

We are planning on bringing a small soft sided cooler. We use it in the car all the time. It'll hold nine sodas. It's collapsible too!
