Which parts of what buildings are considered "preferred" at Pop? I have looked all over, but can't find a list. :confused3

Do you think they are worth the extra $10 a night?

50s building is one ,,but i woulkdnt take pool view, its really noisy last time we stayed there we got parking lot side or lake side..its quieter

It used to be just the 60's buildings but many people have said that now it also includes the rooms in the 50's & 70's that are closest to the main building.

We have stayed at Pop three times and never gone preferred. However, we always got 50's & 70's which is awesome. I'd pay the extra if I got stuck in the 90's. But you just never know until you get there. We roll the dice.

We just got back yesterday from pop and had a preferred room,we were in the 60s building room 5347 facing the goofy water jets and we loved it....very close walk to both the hippy dippy pool and classic hall we didnt have any noise problem so for us with a 4 year old it was worth the extra money...after being at the parks all day it's worth getting off the bus and walking 3 minutes to your room.

IMO, they really are not worth the money. Some of the standard rooms are closer to the food court/main pool/bus stops than some of the preferred rooms. And nothing there is really a long walk. Plus, you run the risk of being put in a room facing the ever noisy Hippy Dippy Pool.:sad2:

I'm paying the extra for a preferred room in just a few weeks - got STUCK in the back of beyond the first time we went & swore we'd never do that again. Think the CM took pleasure in sticking us so far out that we (along with other couples) got lost trying to walk from the food court to our rooms at night. We had to drive to the front to catch the bus & at night try to hunt for a parking space by our room. Never again!!

Mickey here we come....................:jumping1: :car:

For me, it's worth the extra money. Preferred rooms are in the 60's and in the 50's and 70's that are closest to the Hippy Dippy pool. I've never been bothered by the noise, but I'm usually so tired by the end of the night, that I could probably sleep through anything.

Stayed in 60s bld facing pool and loved it no noise problems.
Going back in may trying for 1st floor facing pool. :cool1:

We were just at POP Aug 22-28. We did not pay for a preferred room and were stuck in the 50's, Bldg. B. First floor the very last room directly across from the parking lot. I know that everyone says that there are no rooms that are too far from the busses or the food court - BUT - I differ with that opinion. That hike, to our room and back, with my mug to the foodcourt for coffee every morning, and then back up to the busses, was more than I will ever do again! So my answer to your question is - YES, YES, YES it is worth the ten bucks not to have have that long trek!

If you are going during a slower time the pools will probably not be very noisy so a preferred room might be worth the extra $. And if you have small children you may want to be closer to the food court and buses. Personally I don't think it is worth the extra money. As much walking as we do in the parks, the extra minute to walk from a standard room as opposed to a preferred room didn't bother us. We stayed at POP the first week of free dining in 2005 and I would have paid extra to be as far away from the pool as possible:laughing: Hope you have a great trip!

Dang! A realist! A lot of people complain “But we walk all day in the parks, we don’t want to walk miles (????) back to our room!”. Now, really. Forget preferred. I think the best location (well, never mind convenience, my personal opinion is anything facing the lake, but I digress) is the 80s, followed by the 90s, especially near the center of the building – pretty much a straight shot to the buses if you cut through the parking lot, only a little longer if you stay on the sidewalk. And that side of the resort IS closer to the buses and Everything Pop than the ‘favored’ fifties ;)

We returned from Pop Century last week. We were in two first floor Preferred location rooms (1106/1107) in the 50's Section, Building 1 near, but not facing, the Bowling Pin Pool. We thought they were in a perfect location and I was happy to pay the extra $ for these rooms. We were a short walk to the Food Court and since we weren't facing a pool, the rooms were quiet.
