How does Pop compare to the other All-stars? Where is the location to the preferred room? Worth paying the extra money? How is transportation to MK? Thinking about saving some money and switching over from BC.

1) There are several threads out there that compare POP to All-Stars. Do a search or look through the Resorts section back a couple of days.

2) The preferred rooms are located in the 60's buildings (I believe both buildings in their entirety), and the fronts of the 50's and 70's (I could be wrong about this). The advantage with staying in a preferred room is that you are on a main walkway and right by the pools. Many people state that these areas are much noisier because of their locations.

Would I pay the extra money for a preferred room? No! I don't mind having to over look a parking lot or better yet Hourglass Lake. The walks are not that from from the 50's or 70's (on the other sides of the buildings). But I would request these buildings because from the map, it appears that the 80's and 90's buildings are out of the way of the food court. But they are close to the bus stops.

3) I think it takes like 20 - 30 minutes or so to get to the Magic Kingdom. From my experience, the buses show up to Pop for the Magic Kingdom every five minutes or so, so you never wait very long.

I stayed at POP with my family a few years ago and I was so suprised to see how nice it was. It totally surpassed all my expectations.

The resort is themed nice, the ground are manicured and clean. The room is your basic room, but it was clean, quiet and comfortable. The bus service was good, the food court was good, the game room was good and the pools were good.

Now that my kids are older I would only be able to stay here if we got 2 rooms. That's a bummer, we really enjoyed this resort.

Resort snobs are resort snobs, wherever they stay they won't be happy. So take the negative reviews as grains of salt in a mountain of positive reviews.

Have fun!

We were in the 90s building for our last trip and it was a bit of a walk to get coffee in the morning (and the 4-5 Icees my kids wanted every day!). It wasn't too far to the buses but the shortest route was through the parking lot. While it was quieter, this trip I'm getting preferred room.

stayed in the 50's - tramp building.

love it! the lake side is standard - while the pool side is preferred.

We love Pop!! :cool1: We have stayed there 3 times since September of 05. We have stayed in the 50's and 70's non preferred and most recently stayed in the 60's and paid for the preffered room. In our opinion it is worth the money. The 80's and 90's buildings are quite a walk from the food court and buses. The resort is clean!!! Very bright and cheerful as well. I personally think you can't go wrong in selecting Pop for your vacation.

I just got back and posted a report. It is on this board. We LOVED the Pop and had poolside ground floor room 5162. It was so quiet and close to everything. In my opinion, pay for the preferred!

I am not 100% 'in shape' and all that walking around the parks, out to the buses at the end of the day,etc...... just about did me in - so knowing my room was 'right there' at the end of the day sure helped!
