Pop preferred pool view or Coronado standard with 2yo

I am debating where to start off the first four nights of our vacation for April/ May... I currently have a Pop preferred pool view booked with the hope that the 60s will be refurbished by then. We have never tried a value but Pop looks like a lot of fun and is of course less expensive than moderate and above. After the initial four nights we are doing 2 at AKL and 4 at VGF.

I am starting to get some cold feet about my choice and started looking at moderates. I am curious about Coronado Springs standard room. How is Coronado for a small child? I know it is a convention hotel but would we feel a bit out of place with a toddler running around? Is the trek from the standard rooms really as bad as it looks on the map? Also- when is the resort scheduled to be finished refurbing all the rooms? I saw some pictures on easywdw which is what got all this started!

Thank you for any and all insight!

We stayed at CSR for a week when my youngest turned 3yo and it's now our favourite resort at WDW (whereas Pop is our least favourite)!!! The pool is awesome and being a convention resort, it didn't feel crowded at the pool and in the buses since convention people are at meetings, not taking the bus to MK or swimming in the middle of the day). The bus service was the best we ever had (we stayed in Rancho standard room) and we really like the food at the pool for breakfast and lunch. Having our mug refilled at the pool Cantina was also great since our room was closer to the pool than the food court. We didn't find the walk longer than when we stayed at other resort but it was more beautiful... I would go back to CSR anytime!

Standard rooms at CSR are all over the resort, except Casitas 1, 2, 3, (those are preferred) and Cabanas 9B (business class). Some of the Ranchos rooms are about a 15-minute walk to the main building, but are close to the pool. There's a small splash pool for little kids, as well as a cool playground. We've stayed at CSR with our kids from the time they were about 18 months and on. We never felt out of place at all! The resort has plenty of families there. We love CSR, and we've stayed there many times.

I will say that my kids did enjoy Pop when we stayed there a couple of times, but my husband and I don't enjoy sharing a double bed, so it's been off our list for awhile.

No matter which you choose, I wouldn't do a pool view at Pop. The main pools at any resort are busy, which means loud. I haven't stayed at Pop since the renovation but I did stay there once and have stayed at CSR and I would pick CSR. I'm just not a fan of the busyness of the value resorts. As far as the distance, we stayed in Cabanas 8 or 9 (can't remember but I think I've stayed in both) and it really was a short walk to everywhere. Just across the bridge to the pool, about 5 or 6 minutes to food areas, bus stop right behind. I walk every morning at every resort I stay at and really have not found the walks from the furthest buildings at any of the resorts that prohibitive but I don't have a little one. Way back when I did, little devil could walk circles around me and I got tired way before he did.

We have stayed at POP and are stating there again next month in a preferred pool view. I like these rooms because you are close to every thing. We always request top floor to get away from the busyness. We really like POP. Very colorful and dedicated buses.

Pop is super fun for little kids. We took my oldest daughter to Pop when she was 2 and she still talks about it! It's always her first request when we are trip planning, but unfortunately we have outgrown it. I agree with others in just getting a standard view and request high floor, lake view. I haven't stayed at CSR so can't speak for that resort.

Pop. And, we have never had an issue with noise in a pool view. When you open the door, yes. But, not in the rooms.
