Couple of 50+ yo sisters going 8/24-30. If you had your choice of standard room at Pop Century or All Star Sports, which would you choose and why? What section, floor, etc?

If it's Pop, I would hope for a reno'd room. Anyone think standard rooms would be ready then?

Sis will require an ecv due to health issues, so I'm thinking I might get one too. Will 2 fit in the rooms comfortably?

I stayed at both and I feel they are equally tight in size for anything extra than just what is already furnished in the room. That said, I very much love POP more than Sports. For several reasons...highlights being the food court, the fun theme, it's separate bus, the pool. I think the ECV would be more convenient on the bottom floors, I loved the 80s section. I hope you have a blast!

Some refurbished standard rooms in the 80's/90's sections are ready now, so I would guess, that most, if not all of the 80's/90's would be available by then. So far reports seem to indicate that both beds are queens. I'm not sure what space would be like for 2 ECV's, unless you were planning to share the queen bed and not pull the Murphy bed down.

Since a refurbished room is not assured, the experience should be substantially similar at either resort. I've stayed at All Stars and Pop. I'd stay at either again. I'd lean All Stars just because they are usually a little less expensive but I do have a preference for the access to both Pop/AoA food courts.

The "bus sharing" has always been a non-issue for us. Not sure why it is always mentioned as a down side of the All Stars.

Well, I can only comment from my personal perspective and while the bus sharing isn't a deal breaker, it was tiring always weaving out of the other properties after a long day. The good thing is that I feel I see more of the All stars in commute so maybe that makes up for it, i dunno. I've also stayed at them more than once and felt this way all times.

Ha! Haven't slept in the same bed with sis since the 1960's. Maybe we should ask for that section so it wouldn't be so awkward. LOL!

I'm going to guess the savings from choosing Sports is pretty good. I got Music the week after (Sept. 3-6) for $78/night through CheapTickets which was a good $20-30 less/night than Pop. If you're planning to spend lots of time at the resort, then go for Pop. If saving money is more important, do Sports.

I've stayed at both and if I were to stay in a value again, I'd just go with whichever one is less. Pop's renovated rooms look great and they will now have a coffee pot in them, which is a plus for me but I wouldn't pay more than a couple of dollars a night for it. Sports is a smaller resort so the common areas seemed a little less noisy and crowded to me. As far as getting two EVCs in the room, I'm not sure that is going to work at either place.
