Pop or Shades of green!

Looking for opinions, here's the scenario, 11 people, 1 family are 1st timers,{ Daughter in law and her 3 children} they are very excited! Next Christmas, so I'm trying to weigh 3 nights at Pop Century, 3 rooms or Shades 29 30,31, of December, then switching maybe to FW cabins for the remainder of the time! Pros for POP: magical express, make FP plus 60 days out, total Disney emersion; pros for SOG much nicer rooms and setting, right across from the POLY! the price is near equal considering having to get transportation for SOG! Opinions please!!

I think the Magical express adds to the "magic" too

Could you switch the order--stay at the cabins first and then Shades of Green? Then you could use Magical Express to get to Disney (which I think is more "magical" than the way home.)

Well, the problem is those first 3 days are peak season, super high rates, then it goes down after New Years day, this is when we have to go because of grand kids in school, it would eat up a big chunk of the budget to reverse the order

Shades of Green for sure. We didn't miss the magical express at all when we stayed at Shades-it was actually easier and quicker not having to deal with that.

SOG in a heartbeat. It was actually the first WDW we stayed in way back before it was actually a military resort, it was just a WDW on site resort at the time. I think you will get enough Disney exposure and it beats POP by a mile.

I've stayed at both...Shades of Green for sure!!
