We are trying to decide between Pop and POFQ for our upcoming early December trip. We had originally booked the Pop then with the Pop Warner scare we switched to POFQ (both with AP discounts).

Now that the Pop seems to not be a Pop Warner resort should we switch back?? Is POFQ worth the extra $30 a night??

The only resort experience we have is a past summer stay at WL were we fell in love with every nook and cranny of that resort. We had a wonderful inner courtyard view (free upgrade).

Will we be disappointed with either resort??

BTW - This will be a quick weekend trip mainly for shopping and resort hopping to check out a possible Summer 2005 trip.

There will only be 2 adults and maybe 1 child but that is iffy.

I'm debating between these two as well. I need two rooms the night before our Disney Cruise in February. Do I go with two reasonable rooms at POFQ or two cheap rooms at Pop? We have stayed at POFQ before and it was nice. I have only stayed in moderates and deluxe. Pop would be our first value, but it's only for one night - certainly not a big deal.

Any thoughts?

Looks like I am in good company! I have debated over and over and over. I just called yesterday and gave up my POFQ for Pop at the discounted rate. We needed 2 rooms as we are a family of six and the savings of $60 a night was too much to pass up. I have read all kinds of reviews about both and POFQ sounds beautiful and romantic and peaceful. The POP sounds like it is noisy and busy but it also sounds very kid friendly. My kids are 12,10 , and twins age 3. I think we made the right choice. I read a really really awesome review at tripadvisor.com (there are lots of bad once too - mostly about the noise level) that really made me feel like I made the right choice. It is far down the list and is a very long post called, "Excellent Service!!! Very Clean Rooms!!! Outstanding Value!!! Read it if you get the change.

It also gave me a good idea about room locations etc.

I think it just depends what you want out of your vacation! We are only at Disney two nights and plan on going full board two of those three days. Then we are recovering on a hopefully sunny Cocoa Beach. If you are planning lots of time at the pool and in the resort looks like POFQ would be the better choice.

Good luck with your decision!

My .02 - if you loved the nooks and crannies of the WL then I think you would enjoy the POFQ better than the POP. POFQ is quite charming - have you looked at the photos on this site or allears.net? Maybe that would help.

For the folks staying one or two nights - if it is just a quick trip and not for something special I think the POP will do.

A friend and I went for a last minute winter getaway last Feb and stayed at rhe POP because it was new and therefore the only value I would even try. It was fun in it's own way.

If you want quiet I would suggest the 50's building facing the Lake - it only about a 3 or 4 min walk from the main bldg, food court, bus etc. We were on the 4th fl facing the parking lot and lake and could see Illuminations at night. There is a pool right in front of the buidling so not far should anyone want a dip.

Enjoy the savings!!!

I'd go with POFQ since I've never stayed there, but neither resort is supposed to have Pop Warner kids. That's great that you were able to get the AP discount. The only resort I could get the AP discount for Dec 2-5 was at POR and a couple of the All Stars (Sports and Music). Strange since it seems those resorts would be filled at least on the 4th with PW kids.

I did put a hold on POR and will keep calling about POFQ.

Thanks everyone for your replies!!

We have decided to stay with POFQ. For the extra $$ it seems as though we are getting so much more.

We are going to have very little time for this quick trip and the convenience factor is a big one for us so the DTD boat sounds great. It also seems like POFQ will be a little quieter (more like WL in that aspect).

You're going to love it -and the DTD boat is lovely!!!

GF on Wed for very short visit :)

the FQ food court is smaller, but has just been renovated this
past year,

they have a slide at the pool, if it is warm enough to swim.

they have slightly bigger rooms, but they have A/C window units which are dusty and noisy.

I choose the POP because it has central air( I am a light sleeper and the noise of the window unit always keeps me awake)
and is fairly new as well.

We are saving $400 over our FQ reservations to stay at POP for a week.

Good luck in your deicision.:sunny:
