Given the choice, which would you choose?

We need 2 rooms (5 children, 2 adults), we got prices for both and the difference is about 1000.00 (10 day's) which isn't a deal breaker so now I'm torn!!!

PROS?? CONS??

We have stayed offsite at a house the last 3 years so this will be the kids first trip on site!

I'm bumping becasue I am having the same dilemma at this point. Trying to decide which one to stay at...

Thanks for posting this!

pofq is our favorite of the moderates - but we also like riverside - if cost is not that much of a problem - i would choose po over pop - it always seems like pop is loud - while there's a lot of places for relaxing times at po -

I stayed at POP twice & I loved it. The price was fantastic & we loved all the themes they had going on. I think it just depends what you're going to do. We used the hotel for sleeping & that was it. Each night we were in there for no longer then 6 hours. POP rooms aren't as big as the moderate resort rooms but they're comfy, clean, & affordable. It also depends when you go perhaps, I was there when there were all school trips & there was hardly any noise or problems at all. I can't really give many Cons for pop though. :thumbsup2

POP.
I've stayed at POP and POFQ twice, the transportation is better at POP than at POFQ, so is the food court. The pool is a little better at POFQ, but for the price difference, I'd rather do a day at a water park instead.
Your kids will probably enjoy the bolder decor at POP too. POFQ is pretty, but a little boring.

Last trip we had a very short 3 day visit so we picked POP. We were very happy with it. Since you have never stayed onsite before I would go for POP and save the $$ for other things.
We found the food ct very good with plenty of choices, lots of seating. While we did not swim we checked out the pool and it looked like lots of fun. Our room was clean and well laid out.
POP is more spread out than POFQ and we do love the small size of POFQ especially at the end of the day when we don't want to walk far. We found bus service about the same at both.
I think familys with kids will really enjoy either resort. I will say POFQ is our favorite resort and we have stayed there several times, but for the big price difference you will save alot and still have a great resort to stay at if you choose POP

I agree with most of the remarks made about both POP and POFQ. I think really it depends on your plans. If you are going to be in the parks everyday then I would say save the extra money and go with POP. If you plan to have several days of relaxing at the resort around the pool than POFQ is the better choice.

Here's how I would break it all down......

POP:
eye candy for the kids
more selection in the food court
dedicated bus service
more than 1 pool
very spread out...lots of walking
260 sq ft room
loud and busy resort...approx 2000 rooms

POFQ:
quiet and relaxing atmosphere...approx 1000 rooms
waterslide and hot tub
boat service to DTD
resort is half the size of POP.....no long walks
sometimes shares buses with POR
315 sq ft room with double sink
use of all facilities at POR
no charge for fridge in room

We usually stay at deluxes, but last Feb. stayed at Pop for 3 nights (just me and the kids) I really loved the place although I didn't expect to.

I vote for POFQ. It's our favorite. Quite, relaxing, quaint, easy to navigate, and provides easy access to the parks.

We love POP! We stayed there from Dec. 19-24 and LOVED it! It was clean, quiet and a lot of fun. Now I will say that it may depend on what time of the year you are there. The week before Christmas it's pretty much all families. I'm sure at different times of the year you may get groups that may be noisy :confused3 , I don't know. But our experience was great! I thought the food court was great and POP is centrally located so the bus rides really were not long, especially to AK, EPCOT, and Stuidos. I thought the bus service was pretty good as well, and it was nice not sharing a bus with any other resort. Good luck with whatever you choose and have fun!

I vote for POP! We stayed at Pop Feb 07 and POFQ Dec 07. POFQ was very nice, and would consider it again when the kids are older or an adults only trip. I have to agree with other posts that the food court and transportation were better at pop. The biggest thing is the decor for the kids. When you walk out of your room in the morning at POP you get instant Disney!!! Didn't have that same feeling at POFQ. I just didn't see what I got for the extra money.
