POP or POFQ? Taking First Timers

Need advice, please. Our friends have never been to WDW and are coming with us in late Jan 06; don't want to spend over $150/night for rooms; have ressies at POP in preferred section (we stayed there in Feb 05 & all was fine, except for long bus waits); am concerned that first-timer friends may not like POP. Our ages range from late 40's to early 60's. Wondering if FQ would be better? (We are eligible for govt discount rate at Swan/Dolphin, but nothing available.) Any advice?

Well you have to ask this? How many days you are going? How much time you will actually spend at the hotel? Do you want a sit down restaurant at the hotel besides the food court?

Why don't you sit down with your friends and a big bowl of popcorn and watch the Disney vacation DVD abotu the two resorts (the resort segments are VERY short) and then view Deb Will's site? Let them SEE the differences and then ask their input?

Given the choice between POP and POFQ, I would definitely prefer POFQ. The themeing is wonderful, and we really enjoyed our stay there. Be aware that there is no full service restaurant at either property. There is a hot tub at POFQ, and a boat that takes you to DD. Both of those options held a lot of appeal for us. Look at both properties on the Disney website, and see what you prefer.

What is with that sig? This board is a resource for all to explore...including people who know nothing about Disney. Be patient and show the Disney love, even when a question is asked for the 100th time.

Thanks to those who had advice ... I guess I didn't provide enough info in my original post; I am aware of what is available at each resort (don't care about restaurant, pool, hot tub, etc) ... can't discuss with friends as they live in Montana and we in South Dakota and they said "you make all the arrangements" ... more interested in experiences and opinions of people who have actually stayed at FQ .. and sorry to GoofyFreek for asking the question ... I'll continue to "lurk" and "search" ....

Go for POFQ!! Because I said so! You have to! You must! Ok.. JK! Go with POFQ.. its a very lovely resort.

No your ?'s are very viable questions. And by far are not repeated 10 times on the same page. Its bascially more of what you are actually looking to get out of the hotel. Just a place to lay your head or something a little more. I would actually think the POP would be better, giving the emblems they use(tricycle, rubix cube) cause it brings back memories of being a kid all over again.
