Which should we stay at the week of August 5 for 7 nights, and why?

Thank you.

Pop for me. We like the location, new resort, fun resort. When you do an extra trip we always stay at pop. Enjoy where ever you stay.

We have stayed at Pop twice and will be trying ASMu this August. The entire resort has had/is in the midst of refurbishment. The new rooms look WAY better than the ones at Pop, IMHO. Also, the one thing we hated about POP was the annoying, GIANT WORDS all over the buildings!!! :sad2: Arrrrgh!!! Drove me nuts!!! :headache: I've looked through a ton of pics of ASMu and I must say, for us, the 'look' of the resort is more to our liking. That all said, we still had an amazing time at POP....it's Disney after all...can't go wrong!!

Enjoy your holiday!!!:flower3:

POP!
I'll never stay at an All Star again.
Just the fact that the All Stars share buses alone really kills it. The buses were way too crowded when I stayed at ASMovies.
I've stayed at Pop twice and I'm getting ready to stay there a third time. Maybe its because its newer, but to me Pop feels and looks cleaner than the all stars . I like Pop's theming more. I love the background music there! You'll here Elvis there one minute and Wham! the next. They also have their own bus line.
woohoo!
:goodvibes

I never found the buses to a problem at All Star Music since most of time each resort had its own bus going to the parks.

Just an FYI

There is going to be a new GPS dynamic bus routing which should be working by this fall.
This should help make the buses much more efficient to and from any of the resorts.

From this thread:

....
Regardless.. this will all be changing with the new GPS dynamic bus routing. No bus will be 'dedicated' to anything. They'll all be routed and scheduled dynamically based on need at that exact point in time.

That new bus routing system is due to be implemented in phases this year. Most of it should be in place by the fall.

Basically it's a GPS system that will track all buses (and number of guests aboard) at all times.. in coordination with a computerized routing and scheduling system that works 'on the fly'.

I will be staying at ASMU in August. We want to check out the refurbished rooms there. I have read alot of good things about it. As far as the buses, I have stayed at all of the All Stars and have never had a problem. Each resort has always had their own buses for morning and evening pick up. I am going to be sure and pay very close attention to the bus situation this year. I keep reading so much about it. I have stayed at POP also and didn't find the bus service to be any better then the Allstars.

For me, it's the Pop. DBF and I stayed at All Star Movies in 2003. It was nice, I had no complaints but that being said, we stayed at Pop in 2004 & 2005 and loved it! We are going back again in December and are staying at the Pop again. We like the Pop because it's just a fun resort! :cool1: The theming is fun (50's poodle skirts, 60's tye dye etc). I guess we can relate, with both of us being children of the 70's! :hippie: There are lots of pools and there is a kiddie area with pop jets. I find the rooms at the Pop are a bit bigger than the All Stars. The food court has alot of different options compared to the All Stars, IMHO. I also like the fact that Pop has a pool bar as well as a bar inside. The busses run on a pretty consistent basis; in the past when I've been there, I think the longest we ever waited for a bus was 10-15 mins.

I stayed at POP last August. I had a great room in the 50's facing the lake. I enjoyed the room and the resort. No complaints except that the main areas of the resort got really crowded. The buses were also crowded. So were the pools.

I am trying AS Mu this August. I also like the look of the refurb'd rooms. I am hoping the the resort will be a tad quieter and less crowded. I may be dreamin', but I am going to give it a try.

For a first stay at a value, I think I would try POP. It's fun, new, and smartly designed. I don't think you can go wrong. In general, it gets better reviews than the All Stars.

Both Pop and the All Star rooms are 260 square feet.

Maybe the Pop room feels bigger to you because:

the far bed at an All Star is closer to wall. And the near bed is not as close to the doorway as it is at Pop

The far bed at Pop is pulled away from the wall more. The near bed is closer to door.

For most people that would not make a difference but since I need an ECV
the bed being so near the door at Pop makes it more difficult for me to back my EVC in. :moped:
