Just a one day stay. Planning to do water parks and DTD. Which is best themed, best pool, fasted access to DTD , (Typhone Lagoon) and Poly for Dinner? POP or MOVIES?

I think there's not too much difference between them, BUT Pop in general is a clear winner.
Both are in the same area of the resort, so getting to & from places is going to be about the same amount of time.
Pop is just that little bit newer and nicer than the All Stars.

Pop, it has it's own bus. Movies share a bus with the other value resorts and is not the first stop. You may have to wait through several buses to get on one. Especially on a short trip, time is of the essence. Besides, Pop is nicer. :sunny:

I agree with FortForever...we felt that POP was nicer. We stayed at Movies last fall and it seemed cramped and dirty compared to POP. It wouldn't stop me from going back to Movies.

Well dang I'm super out voted here but I say Movies. Movies is always our go to - maybe we just had an "off" stay but we tried POP once and DH will never go back - we love Movies and have never had a bad experience - it's also usually cheaper.

I stayed at POP for my last two trips and loved it, but this time I am going to try out the All-Stars. However, I would go with whichever one is cheaper.

They were about the same price. We are going to Movies this time. I had already booked Movies and have Luggage tags so decided not to switch reservation. I am thinking I might try a new resort for one or two days each trip that is just a couple of us and no children along. We are DVC members but do like to see what else is available.

Movies doesn't always share, usually it has it's own bus.

I honestly didn't see a huge difference between the Pop and the All Stars. I'd go with whichever one appeals to you more.

It only has it's own bus during the busiest times. Otherwise, it's a shared bus, where it is not the first stop. Waiting on a second bus is not out of the ordinary there.

That has not been my experience with the All Stars. Over multiple stays each All Star has had it's own bus way more often then they have shared. Sharing has been the exception, not the rule. Though I do agree if the resorts share, the Movies is the last one picked up. Though as each All Star is next door to the other, it doesn't add much time at all. It is quicker for a bus to stop at all 3 All Stars than it is for a bus to pick up guests at CBR.

Also, during my stay at the Pop, it was not out of the ordinary to have to wait for a second bus, due to the fact that the Pop is much larger than any individual All Star.

I prefer POP due to the beautiful lake (love the lakeview rooms) and I also love walking over to AoA for a look around. Their food court is great too!

Its true that Pop is larger, so there will be more people at the bus stop. But other than that, Pop is my fave resort. Both are great, neither choice is bad, but Pop is special to me. :)

Obviously, our experiences differ, but no biggie.

Regardless, you can't go wrong staying at ANY Disney resort. I've loved them all and all have good transportation to and from the parks. It's true that waiting on a second bus is not a huge deal, as they come at a steady rate.

You will have an amazing time whatever resort you choose!

We love Pop and prefer it over the All Stars but for one night I'm not sure it makes much of a difference.

Well we are back from our 3 day trip. We stayed at the Movies on day 1. We really enjoyed our walk around the resort. i would love to bring my grandchildren for a day at the pools. Glad we stayed.

Only took a bus twice. Both times to DTD. The first time we took the bus the time tv said 3:11 for next arrival. Minutes kept adding. It was 3:40 or 3:50 before a bus arrived. it looked like a special bus and no one was on the bus. i am guessing that the first to Star resorts filled the prior bus and they had to send a special bus.

The next day the bus was not too bad.

The next two days we stayed at our DVC resorts, Animal Kingdom and Saratoga. Both are very nice resorts.

Daughter and I really enjoyed our 3 day quick trip even without going to the parks. We both agreed we want to go to a non-DVC resort for at least one day on future trips so that we can enjoy all of them.

I'd chose POP.
I've been to ASM before and it was an okay experience, POP had its own bus which ran fast and we sometimes walked over to AoA for food.
Since you're staying for one day I really don't think it matters where you stay.

POP is next on my list.
