We have Pop booked for first week of February, I was really hoping to get Staydine play deal, but nothing at Pop. The first week in March has ASMu with SDP. We typically go in Feb, cooler, but less crowded. Although after reading Josh's recommendation, it looks like 1st week in March might be just as slow. Also maybe a little warmer, so the kids could swim a little more.

So would you stay w/ Pop the 1st week in February or switch to ASMu and have the basic meal plan for the kids price? We normally do mostly counter service with 1 character meal thrown in for fun. Kids are 14 and 11 and the 14yo boy eats like there's no tomorrow. So I doubt we'd have snack credits leftover :P

I personally find Music the least appealing resort out of all the value resorts. They have the poorest layout, its very narrow, so it takes forever to get to your room if you didn't book a preferred room. Plus I find the lighting poor at music, making it seem darker at night. First impression of music wasnt good....I didnt like it at all. And i've stayed at all of the values. That's just me.

Lastly, I had bed bugs in my room at Music. This turned me off. But of course this can happen at any resort. Not just music.

I do prefer Pop. I love the resort itself...i love the fact that i can walk over to AoA and look around, even eat at their food court. I also love that their rooms are newly refurbished! Love the look of the new rooms.

How much are you saving by staying at music?

Depends on if you really want that discount.
I've stayed at all the values and POP is my favorite and ASMu is my least favorite.
Personally I'd rather pay more and stay at POP if the only alternative is ASMu.
If Movies or Sports was available with the discount I'd definitely consider those.

I was able to find a SDP deal at Pop last week of Feb, it's about $400 more. I made reservations for both and I guess I'll see what Hubby wants to do.
We really liked Pop and the fact that we could see fireworks from our room at night (ok well standing by the railing outside our room). Now to decide if that's a better choice.
Our other issue is we use a cot for DD since she's an octopus when she sleeps. I know it would fit in ASMu since the rooms have not been redone yet. Not sure how it will fit in Pop's new room. Last time we could leave it set up during the day. Dont think that will be possible this time at Pop

You could leave it set up during the day for sure if you put the murphy bed up which with kids you may want to do so they have the table to eat at.
It may still fit even wihout putting the bed up depending on where you put it to begin with.
If you were to get an accessible room it would fit no matter what.

In the same boat! Pop wasnt available for spd for our early feb dates just sports or music.

After reading mostly not great reviews about ASMu, Hubby decided we'll go later in the month of Feb and stay at Pop. The crowd calendar shows it's a higher level, but Hubby has faith in my abilities (and my Dis friends) to make a plan and still get all we want accomplished. And who knows, maybe we can wear tshirts instead of sweatshirts this visit
