We will be visiting and am going back and forth between these 2 resorts. My niece has walking issues but know that she would enjoy AOA more. From what I read it seems that AOA LM rooms are further than what Pop are. We will be have a car and I am wondering if it would be easier to drive from the LM rooms to the bus stop - or should we just forget it and go with Pop. Can anyone tell me the difference in distance? Several years ago we stayed at Pop in the 90's section and we just cut thru the parking lot to get to the bus stop. Even getting to the food court was easy to do. Thanks

I've never stayed ad Pop so I can't help you there. I just wanted to say that I love AoA if you are already planning to have a car then I would strongly consider staying there and just driving from the room to the bus stop, food court. The LM rooms are pretty far.

I love aoa but the walk from lm is simply toooo far. To us driving would take some of the fun away from staying onsite and not getting into our car for the whole trip. I would stay at pop, which we have chosen to do and borrow a wheelchair to visit aoa.

I would go with POP. Personally I prefer AoA, however the walk is far. I know people have driven without problem however as the idea picks up you are going to be parking further away. Also if the idea picks up too much they might stop allowing it. I was under the impression that the spots by the food court were for visitors and those checking in. To me driving would take away the joy of staying at AoA because I love the "feel" of the properties.

I am starting to lean towards Pop but I am unsure what you mean when you say as the " idea picks up you are going to be parking further away". You mean because I would park close to LM (as I could get) and then reparking closer to the bus stop ??? Sorry, but I do not understand ??

I 'think' what they are saying is that the parking lot that is close to the bus stops is basically short term parking. For those checking in or such. So if a lot of people start driving from their rooms to the bus stop area, it could make for fewer and fewer spots in that short term lot.

I have stayed at both resorts. I love AoA, and the LM area. Yes, it is a bit of a walk, but no more than 8 mins or so. Not as long as some walks I have had at BWVs!! If you decide on Pop, get a preferred room, close to the main bldg and bus stops. That will cut down on your walking by quite a bit. That just isn't an option at AoA.

Will you be using some kind of assistance for your niece in the parks? Or will you be bringing something to the parks with you? If you are bringing something with you, it may just be easier to drive to the parks vs using the buses.

OK that makes sense, thank you. Never dawned on me that would be short term parking. Yes, we have a wheel chair that folds up - she can walk but not long distances. If the food court / poolo is far - that could be hard for her. So, I think your right, the best option sounds like Pop - preferred. Thanks

The LM rooms are great if you don't mind walking alot and at least one of your group is a huge Ariel fan (like my DD is). They are as far away from the main building and bus stop as the farthest rooms in Pop. So if you stay in the LM you're guaranteeing yourself the farthest walk possible.

I would spring for a preferred room at Pop. And visit AoA.

The LM is a very long walk to the bus and food court if you have some problems.i don't have any problems and it was still a long walk. I think it can be a hassle doing the car thing to the bus stop. I did like AOA a little more that POP but for you I would definitely recommend POP. They are very close together so you could always walk to AOA and just look at the statues.

I've stayed in both resorts and I feel like the walk at AoA from LM was worse than anything at Pop. Part of the problem is that there are several unlandscaped, sunny, boring spots on that AoA walk that just makes it seem farther than it really is.

I don't have any health or mobility issues and I really found that walk to be a total killer. As in, once I was back in my room, I did not want to leave again for anything. I never felt that way at Pop.

I'm going to echo this!

I am just back from a preferred room at Pop and I think if there are *any* mobility issues involved, _I_ would definitely pay for a preferred room at any of the value or moderate resorts.
