POP or All Stars??

Hey Everyone!!!!
I have booked POP for May 11-18. I keep reading about issues now with how loud this resort is and that they are having issues with people smoking in their rooms and stinking out the whole building. I went last year in November, and it was low season so i cant really compair it to May. I was considering changing over to perhaps ASMovies. And is Movies the best of the 3????I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks in advance!!!!

I would stick with POP. If we all only listen to negative reviews on this site, we will never stay in any resort at WDW. If you think an all-star will be better for you, then switch. If you liked POP your last stay, then stay. Make your decision based on what you want, not what other people say in their bad reviews. I personally, love POP and will continue to stay there. When I get in the mood for something different, maybe I'll check out an All-Star again.

As far as noise goes I have stayed at Pop and AS Sports which would be comparable to movies (as far as the noise level) and they are equally noisy...when outside near the pool areas and in the foodcourt. I have never had an abnormal resort/hotel issue noise level wise while in my room at either resort.

I will say that before WDW implemented their "no smoking" policy throughout all of their rooms and resorts that means absolutely no smoking in any resort rooms and/or just outside the room areas that at POP I did have an occasion once where I did once smell smoke from another room. However, this was years ago and should not happen now with the new rules in place so don't let this worry you.

I would suggest POP Century because it is a newer resort, I like their food court a little better and they have their own bus vs. the AS resorts all share buses with the three resorts.

Have a great time regardless of which resort you choose. There all great!

I have stayed at both Movies AND POP before. I prefer POP for the simple fact that there is only 1 bus stop. When we stayed at MOVIES, we would also make stops at Sports & Music before finally heading off to the theme parks. I also had that problem at CBS-that was like 5 stops around the entire resort before finally heading out.....too much stopping and going for me. And if you throw in someone with a wheelchair coming onto the bus....well, add another 10 minutes to the whole thing. I thought Pop was nice and clean too.

I am always the odd ball with this question..lol. We were not fans of Pop and would go back to Movies with no problem. We are DVC members now but, we stayed at both before we joined.

Pop's buses were packed when we were there in September of 2006. Even though there is only one stop, the resort is big. The food court was a mob scene all the time.

We stayed at Movies four times and the buses never shared with the other All Stars. I know they do on occasion but, we were lucky our four stays, they never did. My kids also prefer the theming of Movies over Pop.

You really can not go wrong with any of the Disney Resorts. It is just a matter of personal preference. Hope you have a great trip either way!!
