Pop, Not That Great

We just got back this week staying 5 nights at the POP. First time to WDW and we thought the POP was great. I wouldn't hesitate to go back again. For sure a family type atomospere.

We are looking to stay at POP at the end of January for just a few days....do you find one section of the resort to be louder than another?? ie: nearer to auto or people traffic??
i WAS IN THE 60'S BUILDING, 4TH FLOOR FACING THE LAKE, NOT A SOUND from 8/21 to 8/28

By the way, I find the deluxes at Disney to have noisier neighbors.

I've noticed this as well. I'm not going to speculate really, on why, but I have noticed it. I still love the hotels, all of them, but my last stay at AKL was very noisy.

One woman actually tells me that "Oh we only stay in the most expensive places. There is no way that Boardwalk Inn and Villas would be up to what we expect."

What a weirdo! Has she SEEN the BWI??

We stayed at Pop for 9 nights this last May and LOVED this resort even when I came prepared to hate it. We were in the 60's building facing the lake and it was very quiet. i would never want to face the pool. it did get very lous on that side

Our problem with PC was the rock hard beds. I don't remember hearing the toilets flushing. I heard just as much noise in the coridors at the Wilderness Lodge and coming from my neighbors balconies as I did at PC so noise really isn't an issue.

:rotfl: I'm with you Sheri!!! 'Only the best for us' she'll say. She stayed at the Polynesian one time since she was with another couple and she told me she just couldn't believe the difference between there and GF. That the Polynesian shouldn't even be considered a deluxe in the same class with GF. I don't think she's even been over to the Epcot resort area. In fact, when we were showing her photos of my dd Kate at the Little Mermaid statue at the entrance to BCV, this woman's comment was..."Oh Genna, we remember that don't we??" to her granddaughter who she had taken back in '98!!! Was BCV even built then?? And she says she has never seen those resorts at all.

There is a Little Mermaid statue at All Star Music. Maybe she saw it there.

I think you are going to get noise no matter what resort you are at if your neighbours are noisy! Anyone hear of knocking on their door and asking them (nicely) to please keep it down?
I stayed in a hotel in another city one time and could hear intimate conversations next door well into the wee hours of the morning for 2 straight nights. The third night I decided it HAD TO STOP. I introduced myself as their hotel next-door-neighbour and thanked them for their understanding (in advance) but advised that I really do not care to hear how much they loved having their behinds spanked!

Worked like a charm.
