Hi,
We are going next week for our second visit to WDW and our first visit to the POP. I am wondering about what room to request. I am nostalgic about the
70's and 80's for the music and icons but I heard that the 50's and 60's were better for being close to food court, etc. We are travelling with a 10-month-old and a 7 year old.

We will have our own car to travel between parks so bus is not an issue.

We did not pay for preferred room.

Like to be close to pool and laundry.

Close to food court and game room would be nice

Upper level better for noise control? View? How about the elevators..do you have to wait long.

We will have a stroller so would lower level be better?

My DS(7) is crazy about critters and I heard there were lizards around? A room near the lizards would be fun! LOL

Our last trip was 3.5 years ago stayed at POLY & AKL.

Thanks for your time!

Thanks!

We just stayed last week with our 1,2 & 3 year olds. I have stayed at BWI, GF & Dolphin, and was happy with POP. I am not sure if I would return, but probably would seeing the price. Anyways we had a standard room 70's section, building 6, 2nd floor. If I went back, i would request it again. I found it close to everything!! It was very noisy the 1st night, but that was SAturday, AFter the 1st night, the noise level dropped. I did do laundry and it was maybe a 4 minute walk, as was the food court & pool. If we brought our stroller in at night we used the elevators, which never had a wait. We are also an active family, and don't mind walking, so somebody else might think it was far! We would drive around at night until our kids fell asleep, and my DH, mother & I would all carry one up from the parking lot, and that was also a 5 minute or so walk. Have fun!

 Those little green lizards are all over the place in Florida, so it just's a matter of them running across the sidewalk when you're walking along :) Some trips we see loads, other trips none. Seems we see more in the hot weather.

In the non-preferred 70's you would be close to parking, which can make a huge difference with a car. The 60's is a hike from the parking lots.

The Jukebox building of the 50's is right next to the parking lot, laundry and bowling pin pool. Maybe a 5 minute walk from the food court and bus. It is a great location. Would request a 4th fl, pool view in that building. We rarely wait for an elevator :)

Have a great trip!

We are in a similar situation. First stay at Pop with an infant, 3yo and 5yo. Would you say your room was quiet or did pool noise keep you awake? We will be napping at some point during the day. The only negatives I have heard about Pop is the noise. How bad can it be? We have paid for a preferred room.

OP, sorry to hijack your thread but maybe this questions will benefit you as well.

Our location in the 50's Jukebox building was very quiet - although we had a view of the pool, we never heard anyone.

Would not pay for preferred at POP just because we've stayed there 4 times and have not found the walk to be long to any of the rooms - we have always been in the back of Tramp or either side of Jukebox buildings.

Would not want to be on the far side of the back of the Jukebox building - would suggest looking at a map to be familiar with locations, so if the locaiton you request is not available you could ask about another.

If you have a car, 50's and 70's will be easiest, 60's terrible walk from parking!
WILLCAD's POP map does have the preferred room area underlined:

Hope this helps!

I think all rooms that are closest to the food court are preferred. I really enjoyed the 70's myself. We had ground floor and I loved it.
