I just looked at the menu for pop where we will be staying and I'm not happy at all w/ the kids menu. Their is not one choice that my kids would be happy with. There is no pizza, hot dogs, nacho/mexican or salads or even hamburgers. My kids will not touch nodles, that's half of the menu they will eat chicken on the bone but are not fans of nuggets. What are we to do? :confused3

Pop has pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, mac n cheese, and all that stuff. My son ate it all up!

If you are on the dining plan and you have a child with child credits for counter service they are "officially" limited to the child offerings only. Unfortunately the childrens menu does seem abit lacking.

For Young Pop Stars (9 and under)

Macaroni and Cheese and Penne Pasta available till Midnight all other child entrees available till 10 PM

Chicken Nuggets with crackers and choice of fries or apple sauce - $3.99

Peanut Butter Fluff Sandwich with crackers and choice of fries or apple sauce - $3.99

Macaroni and Cheese with cheddar crackers and apple sauce - $3.99

Penne Pasta with Meatball with cheddar crackers and apple sauce - $3.99

Sloppy Joe with cheddar crackers and apple sauce - $3.99

Chicken Noodle Soup with cheddar crackers and apple sauce - $3.99

Vegetable Lo Mein with cheddar crackers and apple sauce - $3.99

Call Disney dining and see if there are any alternative selections. I know they will prepare things for someone with food allergies. Maybe they can accomodate you, too.

If not, maybe you could use your CS credits at Pop for breakfast and eat your lunches elsewhere.

I'm sue the restaurants will make special kids portions but I don't think cs will.
As to the breakfast we are not much of bk eater it's usually a bagel or granola bar w/ a piece of fruit. We have only 3 or 4 meals planned at Pop so maybe I can get something from somewhere else & bring it back. I quess I could get a kids meal and let them share my adult meal. I'm sure we will work it out I am just bummed.

Actually, I think that's a nice variety of choices. It's more choices than kids get at many counter service and some table service restaurants in the park.

If there really is nothing on the kids menu that your child will eat, perhaps you can pay out-of-pocket for a hot dog or burger or whatever it is your child wants. You'd still get the drink and dessert from dining plan credits.

we were on the "old" dining plan last time we went and they said that any of the "special of the day" items could come in kids size and count as a kids meal All I remember was a Turkey Dinner ( I think they called it a TV dinner or something) Seems they had Fried Chicken one night too? Maybe this dining plan is more strict but it won;t hurt to ask

The menu might be great for some but as I said my kids won't touch noodles. That's 4 of the choices right there. It would be nice if they had hot dogs, pizza, hamburgers, some kids staples on the menu. I really don't think that I should have to pay oop. The more I am looking at other cs meals I'm noticing more poor choices. I just did another thread asking if disney would allow me to get 1 adult cs and charge me for 2 kids. If anything Dis would be saving money and I'm sure 1 adult meal would feed my 2 kids. I'm hoping this may work.

Please consider Wolfgang Puck Express in Downtown Disney Marketplace if you're over there. It's a CS restaurant, and the best on Disney property IMO. The food is excellent and more like the quality of a full service venue, served on real plates, etc. On their kids menus they do offer both cheese and pepperoni pizza, along with four cheese mac & cheese (which is supposed to be wonderful.............it's on the adult menu as well), and chicken fingers. Just a thought! :goodvibes

OP- are you completely committed to being at your hotel at lunchtime for 3 or 4 days of your vacation?

I loved the kids menu at Pop There is definately more than at a lot of cs in parks, DGS 5 would eat Mac & cheeese ev ery day every meal so that may be why I love Pop's menu but you could get an adult ddouble cheeseburger buy a bun and you'd nave 2 meals. I've read sometimes they even give you the bun. Hope this helps

Does anyone know if Cooke's (Raglan Road) is considered counter service on the dining plan?

I love the fact that WP Express is considered counter service...and plan on going there more than once next trip to take advantage of it. :cool1:

No were not. It's just for the dinner on the day we arrive, the lunch the day we leave. Then I have 1 day where we just take and easy and hang out at the pool untill 5p.m. ADR's and another day where we are taking a day to go to chef micky's, than back to the hotel to relax untill 6p.m. ADR's in ddt . So even though all these other places to eat sound great leaving the hotel kinda of defeats the purpose of taking mornings to relax.
I'm also looking at the cs places I picked in the parks and I'm dissapointed. Like in epcot the Uk- Dh & I will have yummy fish and I have to make the kids eat pb&J. Or at the columbia house again we have yummy fish and they have to have chilled chicken. I quess I have some re planning to do. I hate to have to re plan around food choices for the kids.

I do not want to start a war but last august both of my children ordered anything on the menu that they wanted. We were in disney for 8 days. We ate all counter service and table service meals at the pop and the parks. We asked the server if they had to order only off the childrens menu and they said anything that they want. I do not know if this has changed since last year but I hope it hasn't since we are going back in a couple of weeks.
