Pop -- Just curious

When we walk into the POP food court this blast of hurricane force wind blows down on us. For the life of me I can't imagine WHY it's set up that way. I know their goal is not to blow the napkins off each tray as we leave the food court and it seems silly if it's trying to dry swimmers. Any ideas?

That's actually a very common way of keeping the a/c from leaking out when people open the doors continuously throughout the day.

I did finally learn to put the napkins under the food, salt in my pocket and hang on to anything else 'light'. It wasn't always easy, trying to open the door and save the stuff at the same time. The doors were opening constantly, so I guess they just decided to blow the A/C back into the building!

Yeah, it just blows straight down so when the door opens the rush of a/c can't get out and the hot humid air can't get in. It's like a wall of wind.
