Pop experts - room location request

I have a terrible confession - I'm tired of planning our Disney vacation by myself. Now I'm not crazy, I do love to plan. But this is the second trip with my brother's family and no input from anyone. I'm tired of making all the decisions. Yes, I do know best, but don't make me make all the choices :goodvibes

So, Pop experts please help me decide on a room request. We will:

1. be traveling with boys 6 & 7
2. have a car
3. have a regular, not preferred, room
4. definitely want the top floor
5. like a quiet area with a nice view (well, I do anyway)

I have stayed in the 90's with a parking lot view, and the 70's overlooking the lake - both times with just adults. Loved the 70's room...but what do kids want??

If you help me to make my decision I will send you pixie dust for the next 365 days!

We stayed for 9 nights at POP in Sept. and being that we were two adults we wanted top floor and in a quieter area (didn't want to be facing a pool). They had us 2nd floor facing a pool, so I politely requested that they try to find something more along my requests and within 15 seconds they had me top floor, building six, facing the lake. I have no idea why we even try with the requests because this is the second time this has happened and each time they give us a different room (exactly what we requested) within 15 seconds. Specifically our room was 6415 and it was great. Unbelievably quiet and a good view of the lake and new resort being built. Couldn't hear any construction noise. The refurbed rooms are great. Hope this helps.

This is what I do. (First, let me tell you, we've been to POP for the last 4 years - Sept./Oct time frames each time.)
On my reservation this is what I request:
"50's area, Facing hourglass Lake, Top floor, Quiet, quiet"
(This is also on my ressie for next year as well)
We do not have children in our room. They have their own rooms. But this year we ended up with Bldg#3, top floor facing Hourglass lake - I think the room was # 3435. Last year we had bldg#2 -top floor, facing the lake also. These are great rooms! If we're tired and are back to the room early, we can see both the MK & Epcot fireworks from the room! Also, being away from the pools it is quiet! with the ice machine on this floor and an elevator it is easy to get to.Enjoy your trip! We love POP!:surfweb:

Just back from POP and had two great connecting standard rooms in the 50's. We were in building 2, 4th floor, facing the Lady icon, overlooking the bowling pin pool.
Room numbers were 2404-2405. Very quiet and right around the corner from the elevators. This building was the last to be refurbed so everything is fresh and clean. Walk to Classic Hall and buses wasn't too bad. :cloud9:

Thank you all so much. pixiedust: What I have learned is that I was stressing over nothing. If I just ask for a top floor room, facing the lake the building number doesn't really matter as people seem to like different buildings. I was worried about my nephews having to walk distances to the pool, parking lot, etc., but after staying at CSR with their family last summer I know they can walk!
