Hi there!

We are die hard POP fanatics, who unfortunately this year have outgrown our favorite resort and will be staying at POR. :worried: I am interested to see if anyone has any comparisons as far as the bus system/walk to the bus stop between the 2 resorts. We are booked for standard, so I am preparing for the farthest building, and my concerns are these:

How far is the walk from say building 34 or 35, to the main bus stop in comparison to the pop bus stop and the 50s building. We tried to google map it but couldnt come up with anything accurate.

Since their is another bus stop quite close to said POR buildings, how full does that bus get before it actually reaches that stop (which to my understanding would be the last one)

Would it be better to make the walk over to the main bus stop, or wait out one that could possible be quite full?

We absolutely love POP, we are comfortable there, and feel like we know what to expect. Thats not the case with POR. I hope a lot of my concerns are just new resort jitters.....so any suggestions would be welcome.

Thank you!:goodvibes

We have stayed at both and prefer POR. I didn't find the bus service bad at either resort. POR is probably more spread out, but POP has more rooms, which of course means more people. At POP where there is only one bus stop it can seem like a lot of people waiting for each bus. At POR where everyone waits in one area the people could be waiting for one of two buses and when we were there it didn't seem like many people used all of the other bus stops around the resort. Great food courts at both, but I give POR the edge for some of their choices - make your own pasta was great. The pool at POR was much better and had a fun waterslide.

POR has multiple bus stops so one will probably be near you. Check out this site for al lthe POR info you might want. BTW my wife and I have stayed at Pop several times and POR a couple as well. If we had the money we would always be at POR.

I agree. food court and pool is better at POR than at Pop. Plus as pp mentioned, you get a water slide at POR, which is quite long and fun! You also get bike rentals, horse/carriage ride, boat to DTD. Great resort! I love it far better than POFQ.

Last trip we did a split stay between POR & POP. Pop is our fave resort as well! I have to say, the theme and feel of Pop is far different than POR. I love them both in different ways. I love the vibe of Pop, I love the larger than life icons, the arcade at pop is amazing, I love the activities they have during the day. I know all resorts do this during the day, but the CM's doing it at pop were particularly great. POR is a gorgeous gorgeous resort. Simply beautiful. Lush grounds, terrific food court & pool, yehaw bob, horse/carriage ride, bike rentals, boat to DTD.

We stayed in the Arcadian building and i was pleasantly surprised as to how close it was to the main building. It was a short walk over the bridge. Magnolia building is right next to arcadian, and thats even closer! but im not sure if they turned that room into a royal room or not? Either way, i highly recommend Arcadian. Great location! Ive never had an issue with buses. Its always been great. Going to the main building/bus stop isnt a bad idea. Maybe others have more info on buses.

I am actuallly in the opposite situation as you. We have stayed at POR two years in a row and this year we are going to try pop, (not really for the money difference since it is only $240 )for a new experience. Like the previous post stated i love the feel of POR(hope i dont miss it)but i think the feel of POP looks fun!!! As far as rooms I would request building 16. Looking at the map it is not acrually preferred but it should be because it is very close. I actually paid for preferred last year and was in 16 and never realized it wasnt actually a preferred building(I should have got a credit!lol). We were there thanksgiving week and i never noticed the buses being filled by the time they got to the farther out stops. So i wouldnt walk to the main stop. The pasta station is excellant, the boat ride is great, and lots of the rooms will be refurbed. I love the resort. hope i will like pop as much. The new refurbed rooms are almost making me switch back, since i book preferred, the will all be done by august.

Thanks, I hadnt put it in that perspective...that although it may be larger, their are less people. I was just thinking more space=more people.
If we had the money we would always be at POR.
Well thats encouraging to know, thank you!

Thank you! Good to know another POP lover enjoyed their stay at POR. I mean dont get me wrong, I want to try new resorts, its just so hard taking a chance when I already love a place! I get so worried I wont like it as much. lol

Thank you, I'm excited to try this pasta station I keep hearing about!

I really appreciate all the responses. I guess if worrying about which Disney resort I'll like the most is the biggest of my concerns these days, I'm a pretty lucky person.:thumbsup2 I think POR is beautiful and overall am pretty excited to stay there. These were just some concerns I had after looking at the map. Thanks again!:goodvibes
