Has anyone stayed here? Last year we stayed at Port Orleans- Riverside, it was great! We just bought a house and are on a tighter budget, so we're trying POP. We'll be there from 9/25 to 10/4... Any tips would be great!

Thanks

:flower: Staying by the main pool in the 50's building, it is close to the food court also. And we suggest taking a stroll along the lake (it's not finished yet, so you can't go all the way around it) and reading the little trivia facts on the signs for each decade, it's pretty interesting. We are staying there again Oct 12-18, we really liked it last time. We hope you enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the info. I requested the 50s building, hopefully we'll get it. Thanks for the info on the trivia. I love that stuff. Enjoy your trip too.

The 50's and 70's buildings are also not that far away from the main lobby and are usually a little cheaper. We have stayed in both and found them convienent enough.

Welcome to the DIS, RachelRol!

I stayed in the 70's building with the big wheel, and we found it very convienent to the food court and the bus stop. It was maybe a minute or two to the food court and bus stop, and main pool, too.

Absolutely loved POP last month. The food court is great but big portions, we wasted alot of food the first day or two. My advice share meals and go back for more if your still hungry. Busses were great the only waits we had were when we left a park at closing and after fireworks but all resorts had the same problem, just take a little patience with you. The hippy dippy pool is faboulous, my daughter (10) loved it and all the icons were fun too. You'll have a blast.

We are checking in to Pop Century on Saturday   Never stayed at Pop, but I got a lot of info from the Pop thread on this site. If you scroll through the first few pages of the Disney Resort thread you should find it.

We just returned from a week at the Pop and it was great. We had the 70's building behind the big Mickey phone. We had 3 rooms, 2 connectedl. We didn't pay for a view but the back faces the lake. It was a short walk to the food court. We took a short cut to the buses by going through the big wheel building and getting to the buses by way of the parking lot.

The pools were big and not overly crowded. We loved the way it was decorated. It brought back a lot of memories.

Have a great trip!

My family and I  it there! We stayed in the 50s section with a view of Wishes fireworks and Illuminations on the 4th floor. Our pool was very quite and very warm 82-86 degrees. (BTW, we stayed here in Jan.) We had a 2-4 mi. walk over to the food court and a 1-2 min. walk to the pool. On the 4th floor we didn't have any problems as far as noise and plumbing. I would also suggest walking around POP's grounds. The signs are pretty interesting as well as the oldy sayings on top of the buildings like Polyester, Bee Hive Hair Doo, and Don't Have a Cow. I hope this helps you out!

We'll be staying there Sept 1st through the 5th! Can't wait!! Will be requesting an upper floor in the 50's building! Woo hoo!!

We stayed there last September and also in December~50s, Epcot view! :cool1: We found it very pleasant. Nicer than the All Stars, but they didn't fix the "you can hear every person in your building flush their toilet and bang their door" problem...

A friend and I are going to be there in a month (girls' shopping/eating weekend), and our families are staying there together in February. We were actually booked there for our 12 day January trip, but now DH thinks a mod would be better for such a lengthy stay.

We enjoyed it overall, though!

Hi,
I have to agree. We stayed in the 50's in the Tramp building of the lady and the Tramp. We were close to the Classic hall (dining etc.), both the 50's pool and the main pool - my kids liked the quiet bowling pin pool in the 50's as they could throw a squishy football around easily etc.

We had a room in the back - overlooking the lake and we could see the epcot globe, nightly fireworks etc. It was room 3332 and it was fine - I'd request the same area again. We must have been tired, because I can't say the toilets/door slamming etc were an issue at all in 7 nights! (I found the Hard Rock Hotel hallways and neighbouring rooms noisier for 3 nights at Universal than the POP)

Have Fun! ::MickeyMo

We have been to POP twice and are going back in 3 weeks!! On our last trip in June we had a 4th floor room in the 50's and just stepped out the door to see the fireworks. Our family loves POP and you can't beat the value.

We still love to stay at the deluxe resorts, but with POP being so inexpensive we usually just stay there so we get more days!

Hope you have a great time!

We stayed in the 70's building, the one with the Mickey phone (#6) on the 3rd floor facing the lake (it didn't cost any more for the lake view). We heard no flushing toilets or doors slamming and the entire resort was full. We could see the fireworks. It was quite a jaunt to the parking lot, but we got a luggage cart from the main hall for check in and out. It was closest to the 90's swimming pool so we didn't go to the Hippitidy Dippity pool.
