My DH and I are going to Pop in January and I was wondering how it is staying without children. I've been reading so many posts from people with kids....any child-free adults stay there and like it?

My fiance and I just got back from a week at Pop and we loved it. We stayed in the 50's building, facing Epcot's spaceship Earth :cool1: Great view for a value! It was very quiet there. Never heard a noise. Ask for this area if you book. Very quiet. If you are not very picky about luxury accomodations, you'll have a good time. We'll be back in Jan.1 for a quick trip.

My wife and I have stayed there,we have no children :( , and it was fine, stayed there twice.. this next trip we are doing POFQ. wanted to try a moderate.

We stayed there as only adults but didn't have the best visit. I would really request a quiet room away from the pools to avoid some of the issues we had ;)

Hope you have a great stay!

Thanks! We requested a 70's building. From what I see it doesn't have a pool. Hope we get a quiet room.

Flyerfan, humm.... maybe happy hockey is finally back?

We're just two adults in our early 40s. Love Pop Century. I actually think it's more for the adults than for the kids. The walk back in time is wonderful. The exhibits in the lobby, the walkway along the lake. The icons all over. It's one of my favorite places to just stroll around and keep going "let's play!" Heck, most of the kids don't even know what the big old eight track tape is.

We stayed there once when it first opened and we are planning another stay this Oct. 2005. I agree with Disnut8. I think you will find more kids at the sports and music resorts.

Hi,

My husband and I have stayed at Pop twice and both times it was just the 2 of us. We enjoyed it so much that we are taking the kids (and grandkids) back in a couple of weeks. We really enjoyed walking around the resorts and pointing things out to each other... "hey, do you remember these???". The rooms are a little on the small side, but just right for 2 people, especially if you are lucky enough to get a King Bed room like we have both times. It's not a deluxe, but it always felt more like "Moderate Lite" to us. Go and enjoy!

My husband and I stayed there last January for our anniversary trip (it was over a week long and we wanted to do it low cost), and really enjoyed it.

We stayed in the 80's building because thats when both of us grew up, and I found the icons from the decades very interesting, and they also have a walking trail near Hour Glass Lake that takes you through the history of the past fifty years, very interesting.

If its just two of you the rooms are spacious enough, we requested and got a king bed room.

We also really spent most of our time at the parks, but I agree with everyone else we paid $55 (AP rate, Value season) a night I think and we got the same great customer service as we would have at any Disney resort.

Yes, Disnut8....Very much so. :cool1:

Thanks for the advice on Pop. I read one little bad thing and I'm ready to upgrade. But the good far outweigh the bad on this board.

We really enjoyed the Pop Century when we stayed there NYE 2 years ago. However, I am a very light sleeper and if/when we stay there again I will request the very last room on the corridor and top floor. There were so many happy excited children going to EARLY entry in the mornings........ :bounce:

We LOVED it! We were honeymooning and thought it was great. We heard very little noise and thought the room was in really good condition. It was very clean and we loved the computer pool. It was rarely crowded and really did not have that many kids.

I have to say, we recently stayed there with our 2 children DS 11 1/2 and DD 10, and although the icons are very cool things my DH and I remember, I would definetely NOT stay there as a couple. Pools are WERE very crowded and it just seemed like (I posted this phrase in another thread) like a very chaotic fun time. We did not mind it because, of course, we have children, but I would not want to stay there with just my DH and myself.

Dave, it looks like our trips overlapped. We arrived on the 8th. Can I ask what building you stayed in and what pool you used? We were in the computer pool daily (except MK day) at least once and did not encounter crowds, and we were in at various times of day, so I'm curious...

We stayed at POP last January and really enjoyed ourselves. We are a couple in our early 50's and as you can see from the signature that we have visited WDW many times. I must say that I really enjoy a good bargain and that's what you'll get at POP. The room is just great for 2 people, the food court bright and fun, the icons are nostalgic, and POP also has a lake to enjoy. We'll be returning again in a few weeks. Go and have a blast...you'll be on property which is the best benefit of all!

I have stayed there twice now (have gone with my mom, brother, and husband-- no kids) and we love it! We're all going back for Christmas this year.

It definitely seems more adult-friendly than any of the All-Stars. The decor isn't as tacky, the food choices in the food court are better, and there's even an indoor lounge (which is something none of the All Stars have!)

Plus, the nostalgia factor seems to appeal more to adults than kids. :)

I stayed there last December with my sister and am going back again solo for the Food and Wine festival and booked Pop again, we loved it!!.

Sounds like such fun, I would love to go to Pop even without kids. In fact, it is our next planned resort whether we visit with the kids or without.

DW and I have stayed there twice without kids and have had a great time. Can't wait until we go back again in Jan. although this time is with the kids. Maine :firefight

DH and I will be staying there this fall, without the kids. I'll let you know how it was, when we get back :flower:

But I agree with others who say the all the nostalgia will be more relevent to us older people, than to kids. :teeth: It definitely looks like a fun place for kids, but a lot of the memorabilia and decor will go right over their heads. lol
