I am planning a trip for Sept and we currently have a reservation at All Star Movies and we are thinking of switching to Pop Century. Which building should I request that is close to buses, food? Thanks!

Request 50's A 60 A or B or 70s B

I would add 50's C to that as well myself.. :)

also interested, I was thinking 50's after looking at pictures thread

The yellow lines are preferred rooms. The purple arrow is where we stayed. In the first few rooms around the corner from preferred. They had to walk to the same stairway. We were just as close for less money.

The only request I made was close to classic hall as possible.

We've stayed in the 60,70 and 50's and prefer the 50's because it has such a nice view of Epcot, MK. We can see the fireworks at night. Also, the pin pool is nice. Building #2 is our choice. :surfweb:

1. Do they typically honor your requests and place you in the building you wish for?
We're paying extra for the preferred room as once we were in the 80's rooms and it was quite a treck to the busses. Last time we opted for the preferred room and were placed in the 50's A section. Much better!
2. Which buildings are the preferred rooms? Which of those sections are better?

What building and section would you request to be near the kiddie playground and the water fountains for the kids? Don't want to be super noisy but being near these things would be nice for our 2 yr old:confused3

We didn't make a request but were put in 50's Building 3/C . It was WONDERFUL. We preferred the pool in front of the building to the main pool. Close walk to the GREAT food court. The only building I really wouldn't want to be in was the 80's and 90's. We did a walk around the resort one night and wow what a walk. I have stayed at all three All Stars and my husband and I prefer POP hands down. Enjoy!!!

60's preferred facing the 70's. We were on the 3rd floor and looked down on the Goofy water jets. It was quiet and took less than 1 minute to get down stairs and into Classic Hall. AWESOME location! Playground is just to the right of Classic Hall on walkway.

Request 50's A 60 A or B or 70s B
Or, for possibly better results, request buildings by number - using the resort map posted by Mysteria :)

If they possibly can, sure.

Building 10 or Building 6.

We stayed at the 70's B, 4th floor in Jan. The lower floors are prefered locations, but the upper floors can be more quiet. The 70's B is next to the main hall and the bus stops so it was great for us. It is also not too far from the pool.

I always request and never get what I would like...not asking for the moon either. 2x placed in the 80's. We stayed at music last time and liked it there. This time we are staying at music, again.

Last September we stayed on the back side of Building #10. It was great. It is a close walk to the food court, bus stop and parking lot (if you have a car). My kids loved it and want to stay in the same area again when we return this August. It was also extremely quiet. We never heard or even seen a neighbor the entire week we were there. Can't wait to go back. Have a great trip!

The 60's building 10 is definitely the most convenient - stayed there in 2005! Such an easy walk to basically everything, and the pool is right there. Overall, very good location! :thumbsup2

According to the map--I've stayed in the 50's A & C sections and the 80's A Section. I found 50's to be a quick walk to both buses and food court. The 80's section wasn't too much longer to the food court and was also quick to the buses if you cut through the parking lot.

If I had to choose between the 2, I'd go back to the 50's. It was a close walk and the bowling pin pool was better themed than the computer pool. I also think it was less crowded.

The 60's are the preferred area (more expensive). I find it to be way more crowded than the other sections.

I've stayed at ASMo, and will always choose Pop because I hated sharing busses with the other All-Star resorts. You won't regret the switch.

Have Fun!

That's surprising! Given the lack of favor for the 80's/90's, plus the pool itself's boring shape, I'd think the 50's and the bowling pin pool would be MORE popular!

Much, but not all, the 60's is Preferred (2/3 of the rooms). In addition, 144 rooms in Building 1 and Building 10, and 48 rooms each in Buildings 3 and 7, are Preferred.

Note, too, if requesting a specific building (not particularly advisable, since it greatly reduces the room assignor's options), that the buildings are numbered, not lettered. If you call and ask for Building B, odds are the CM will have no idea to what you're referring. Ask for Building 2 - no problem :)
