For the extra $200ish, is it worth staying at Pop Century vs All-Star Movies? Both would be standard rooms. (Thinking it’s really the more walking at Pop Century vs the “fun” of experiencing the Skyliner. It’s just my 12 year old and I going for a week, M-F in November.

We have stayed at both and for myself, I've decided I like Pop Century better, even with the cost difference. I love having skyliner access to get to resort restaurants, the boardwalk for entertainment, as well as park access.

We just went through the same thing, and decided that for the money, Skyliner isn't worth it. We recently stayed at Beach Club, and every time we walked past the Skyliner station after Harmonious let out we were just dumbfounded...the line was nearly back to the entrance of the Beach Club. In the morning at park open, we didn't have a wait to get on at the Epcot station, but we did have a decent wait at the Caribbean Beach station to get on the Studios line. In the end, we probably waited as long as we would have with a bus. Our next trip we decided on All Star Music over Pop, that difference in price will pay for a couple of nice meals for us!

I agree use the extra money for a special treat.. an after hours event.. a fireworks party ... that's my opinion

How often would you visit DHS and EPCOT? If a lot, it could be worth it to do POP - the Skyliner is super fast.

Any interest in doing the Christmas after hours event if it's happening while you're there? I'm not sure I'd pay that much extra to get the skyliner. It is cool - not sure how much time it saves overall and you can always ride it anyway. An extra $200 to spend on souvenirs is another thought - haha! Either way I think you'll enjoy having it - but won't miss it too much if you don't.

As much as I like POP I'd go with ASMo (and I did choose to do so for my trip coming up next month).
The rooms at both are now refurbished so that's no longer a selling point for POP.
It seems like the buses no longer run to HS/EPCOT from POP unless the Skyliner is down and with having to transfer it seems less efficient.
I'd rather just get on a bus.

We stayed POP (pre skyliner) and ASMo. I would gladly stay either one (rooms are basically the same) but have POP for this upcoming trip, partly because ASMo wasn't available until after I had paid off the trip, and we really want to try the skyliner. After this trip though, either one, whichever is available. They both have their charms.

I preferred Pop over any of the All-Stars even before the Skyliner and would pay a bit more for it, within reason. Movies is probably the best of the All-Stars, though (the layout is better than Music and Sports isn't renovated yet).
