Pop Century versus All Star Movies

I have never stayed at Pop. Can you tell me which you prefer and why? Thanks!!

Bigger, better food court. Espresso (none at All Stars). Bigger, better gift shop. Lakefront with pathway and benches (no water feature at All Stars). Bridge over lake for easy access to AoA and their food court, gift shop.

I've stayed at both and i love both resorts but i would choose the Pop over movies. its a bit newer they have a great food court and has very easy access to the AoA. it doesnt share buses with any other resort.

My vote is for All Stars. Yes, the lake is nice at Pop but that is all. The beds are very close to the door at Pop making it a pain and sometimes dangerous with small children trying to enter and exit. My friend's daughter actually cut her foot pretty badly. It's hard to explain, but you have to walk in and immediately turn....making it difficult with a stroller. Then there is a lot of unnecessary, wasted space between second bed and wall. Busses don't really share at All Stars like people seem to think. I think the combination of food court and gift shop at Pop is chaotic.

That was my experience last time I was there. I have never had that issue at any of the AS resorts.

I haven't had that experience there but I guess it depends which time of year you go.

I voted for AS Movies. I like the all star resorts better then POP. To me they are quieter and less chaotic.

I'll be staying at All Star Movies (for the first time) and Pop Century next month. We have stayed at Pop many times and I LOVE it. I'm looking forward to being able to compare the two.

I prefer the look of the All Star rooms more then POP. Also, you get the use of all three resort's pools and food courts.

A vote for POP- we have stayed here numerous times and really like the location. We love the food court and gift shop too- but overall it has a good Disney feel for us!

we like pop,their food court is actually better than AoA(IMO) that being said,we have never stayed at all star,our dec trip we are staying there for something different & the theming looks pretty cool & i'll be able to compare the 2,in pop it seemed like everything is a good distance away so a good bit of walking(we stayed in reg vs. the preferred rm)not sure if preferred room is ACTUALLY better. at pop we've shared buses with the water park people,so i've been on shared/crowded buses regardless

ASMo. POP was so chaotic!!!!! Beds were terrible. We could hear the conversations in next room. Busses were were crowded and always a wait when we were there. Food court was so loud and crowded!!

I always thought that I preferred the Movies over POP until last week. Outside of a weekend in February at AoA LM, we normally stay at PoP. DH and I went last weekend for Villians night. We stayed at Movies. I had been there once several years ago with my young son and we loved it and I wanted to go back.

It was nice, the theming was nice. However the carpet in our room was extremely worn. We had asked for a room close to transportation and wound up about as far as we could get from the food court. When I mentioned that it had been my only request another CM came over and told us that we were closer to transportation for Music and suggested we catch the bus there.

They said that there were no other rooms available. Since we had a king sized bed we chose not to change rooms the next day.

All Star Music in Nov, 12; All Star Movie in May, 13; POP in Sep, 13. Will NOT stay at POP again. Yes, it does not share buses, but it is such a large resort, the buses are extremely crowded. Twice, we left Magic Kingdom two hours before park closing and the bus line for POP extended from the bus stop (farthest away) all the way along the construction wall - past the first stop. And, they were loading two POP buses at the same time. The transportation system could not keep up and the first week of September is supposed to be the slowest time of the year. All Stars do share buses, but only during the slow times. In the mornings and evenings, each All Star resort has it's own, dedicated bus. Several times, we took the Art of Animation bus to avoid the long POP lines and walked across the bridge.

The food court at POP was always crowded and noisy. We only ate there twice in fourteen days.

In November, 13, we are going back and have made reservations at All Star Movies.

Here's my two cents..... I think it depends on what style of vacation that you like. We normally stay at POP, but in Feb. we tried AsMo because I thought my kids would like a change.

Pop is louder (they have fun music blaring), the buildings are more colorful, and there is just a cool vibe. The food court, pools, and pool bar are great, they have a wide selection available. Buses are busier, but doable. We like the 90's section as you can just cut across to the bus area and main building.

AsMo was nice, the larger movie icons were fun for the kids. It was quieter, and there is no vibes. IMO- the food court was not as good as Pop, but acceptable. It was busy when we went with cheerleading groups so the buses were packed.

I have also stayed at AsMu and I actually liked it better than AsMo. It was brighter.
