We are here now and have an adjoining room in building 9. We asked for a fridge at check in. The CM gave us the story about needing it for medical. We told them having 6 people we needed it for food etc. as soon as we mentioned the credit she perked right up and said we could have a fridge and it was delivered right away. We were supposed to get 2 and the second didn't show. So, we went done to the desk at night to ask. Had the same " for medical ". Mentioned credit again and it was delivered in a half hr. And that was 10:30 pm. And the 2nd CM told us they were still getting them in. So I would think they would be done soon.

When we arrived on Wednesday we had old fridge with letter on it. Yesterday fridge was removed, but not replaced. Hoping new fridge will be there today. Also last nights bus service from magic kingdom was worst bus experience in 35 years of Disney. Took hour and half from gates to resort.
I was there. You're not exaggerating. I have never, in my life, seen anything remotely like that. The line was ridiculous. I don't know what it was about the Magic Kingdom last night, but after the 2nd MSEP (@ 10PM - also park closing), but it was the worst mob scene I've ever witnessed at the buses. It wasn't just POP either. AoA, Caribbean Beach were bad... it was ugly.

Other than that first few days here @ POP have been great. No fridge (as in there's nothing there). Going to ask for one or a credit today, I'll see how it works out and report back.

We got our request (50s + close to transportation). We got building 1, 2nd floor.

If I were you, I would call back and remove that close to transportation request. They consider the 80"s/90's close to trans. So if a room assigner is trying to balance things, you could get put there!! Just sayin....
I know quite a few CMs who work at POP and they've kinda filled me in on how things work. It's totally up to you. But I'm just telling you what I would do if it was my reservation. :)

I just tried modifying online check-in to remove the "near transportation" request and all it did was add a 3rd option, but it's still on there. Funny, because it specifically says it's limited to 2 requests. So now my 70's request is the 3rd option showing, yet that's my most important request (other than "not on ground floor", but that isn't even an option). UGH

On the bright side, I haven't received the "no fridge" letter yet (we arrive 10/19) but I'm sure it will arrive any day. :crazy2:

Boo hoo! I received the no fridge letter today in the mail for our stay starting 10/24. I knew it as soon as I saw the WDW return address on the envelope. Oh well we will just make the best of it.

DH and I had our couples getaway Wednesday 9/18-9/23. Our plane landed at MCO at 10:30 am, waited about 15 minutes for ME.

We did online check in, requesting 50's or 60's and a king bed standard view. We were told we were upgraded to preferred, room 5153, 60's. Of course this was ground floor and I was a bit nervous of any critters coming into our room:scratchin BTW, no problems with any critters. We kept our luggage off the ground. Our room was ready and meticulous.

We had stopped by the food court to pick up our mugs on our way to our room. It was a little busy, but we only waited maybe 2 minutes to be checked out.

After we freshened up we headed to the bus for MK. We arrived at MK @ 12:30.

We did one small load of laundry while there. They still take quarters only, and had a change machine in the laundry room. We never experienced any issues with guests or CM'S. Everyone seemed to be happy:goodvibes

When we arrived back to POP our first evening we stopped by the front desk to inquire about a fan. The CM had never heard of this, but she checked it out and a fan was delivered to our room within 30 minutes! We also had politely asked about the refrigerator and if they were offering any credits. She was happy to give us $15 per night credit to our account. I had told DH that I expected a 50/50 chance if we would get the credit, so we were very happy:thumbsup2

We went to the pool one evening for a brief swim at the Hippy Dippy Pool. It was moderately busy.

The food court menu has changed a lot IMHO. We only ate there one time. We ordered the french bread pizza, which comes with 2 pizzas, and a brownie with marshmallows and mini m & m's. The pizza was ok, nothing bad, but nothing great either. The brownie, which was very good.

Our check out went very smooth with luggage services, as we didn't need to be at ME for pick up until 5:25.

All in all it was a wonderful trip, and I couldn't have asked for anything more. We love the POP and will miss it when we are back in January at AKV. Which we love it there too! But, POP is so much fun, so in your face Disney:goodvibes

It was very hard returning home after this trip

I stayed in 70's section, top floor (bldg #10), and I really enjoyed it there. Close to everything. Petals Pool Bar was fun.....met lots of nice people there.

Food court was ok. A little crowded. Breakfast is my favorite and I liked the Bounty Platter. Not a great slection in the bakery. I walked over to AOA food court and they had an awesome selection in the bakery.

I had an old refrigerator, unplugged, but asked for one and they brought it right away. I did not have the new beddiing :(

CM's were very friendly. Bus drivers were also very nice.

Love bugs are a nightmare. :furious:

Bed was comfortable, tv was great (nice and big), showerhead great.

Mousekeeping could have been better :confused3

Lots of scooters

In general, a great trip. I enjoyed the parks, but enjoyed spending time at the resorts even more.

I am already planning my next trip!! ::yes::

.

i received our no fridge letter last week (we leave for WDW next Wednesday). i was really hoping we'd have one since i'm running the TOT 10-miler. i know i can add ice to my water and gatorade, but it would be so much better if it were cold to start. i may have to go get a new cooler (DH left ours somewhere).

I was there! The one time I decide to leave the rental car and take the bus. BIG mistake. 90 minutes from gate to resort too. Got back at 11pm! Lots of crying tired kids.

Arrived 2 days ago and I've got to say I LOVE POP!!!!!! I might be a convert.

I'm in 50s section, 1st floor. I'm also a first floor convert. It's just me and DD3 so the less I have to fiddle and walk to get to the room, the better. No elevator means better. Just walk right up!

Anyway, I had no new fridge and no new bedding. I don't mind about the bedding as I keep my room at a comfortable 74 degrees with no comforters. When I saw I had no fridge I went to front desk and asked if they could get me a new one, and they said "sure, no problem" and sent one right up! Obviously they have them, they're just getting around installing them all. I didn't have to mention medical, credit, nothing.

Mousekeeping has been amazing. This has to be the cleanest room I've ever been in. Love bugs not bad at all.

Have a rental car and still loving the freedom! After last night's disaster getting back from MK after Wishes, I won't leave the car behind again! Even though the monorail line was bad it wasn't as bad as the buses!

I love that POP is so compact. I liked the Hippy Dippy pool. Nothing TOO spectacular but very nice. Although the pool activities in the PM are non-stop. I just wanted to swim and relax but DD3 kept insisting we participate... of course, she can't swim, which meant I had to hold her. *sigh*

I've only ever stayed in Mods before, but might not ever again. After all, the rooms aren't any bigger or nicer IMO. The square footage is bigger but the Queen beds take up the extra space so you have the same free space pretty much. In Mods all you get more is:
Sit down restaurant
Water slide
Hot tub

I like the hot tub but in September it's not necessary. DD is too young for the slide (and what she doesn't know to miss can't hurt her) and I almost never eat at the resort, so in the future I believe I'll be staying Value again and just staying longer for the same $$$! Of course, my dream is to stay at the CR or BC but that's a completely different budget.

Hope those of you that are arriving soon enjoy your POP experience as much as I did. I switch to AoA LM on Monday for another 5 days, I'll be interested to compare the two!

We were there the first two weeks of September and had the same experience on both times we stayed late (two hours before closing) with the POP buses. They were even loading two buses at a time and couldn't keep up with the crowd. the POP line extended all the way down the construction wall past the shelters. Both times, we changed to the AOA bus which had a very minimal line and everyone got on the bus. We weren't the only ones from POP doing that. Quick walk across the bridge and we were back to our room. Based on that experience, the wife and I said never again for POP. Going back to All Star Movies.

We check into Pop on Oct 19th and received a no fridge letter in the mail today:worried:

Anyone else receive this yet for that time frame?

We got our letter yesterday, and we check in on the 18th. Some rooms will have them, but there will be no way to know until you enter your room and check the fridge. If it is not new, you can go to the front desk to ask if any are available, and if there isn't one, you can ask that your account be credited. They will give you a $15 per night credit. I'm kind of hoping we don't have a fridge. I'd rather have extra spending money. ESPECIALLY now that the government will likely shut down. :furious:

For anyone waiting for Wishes & MSEP FP+ to become available in October...it's finally happened!

I just booked both for Monday, 10/21. Yay!!!

So if you get in your room and there's no fridge, you can ask directly for the credit or they might get you a new room with a fridge?

They'll probably just bring you a fridge.

They wouldn't give you a new room because they would have to try to find one that had a fridge which could take awhile. They would just check to see if any new fridges that had not yet been installed are available and bring one to your room. If they don't have one, you get the credit.

:woohoo: Beyond excited and almost lost for words...almost..hahahah Mickey Mail came today! It is so real now this next 3 weeks and 3 days are gonna go soooo slow..hahahah:cool1:

I am here now, POP has been less then magical for us this trip. Not sure I will be back. When I left the last time I couldn't wait to get back here, not this time
