Someone more qualified than I can advise but I did something similar on a previous trip. Get yourself to Downtown Disney and then get a taxi from there - to I-Drive it is probably about $25 so to Universal you would probably be looking at $30. You then need to think about coming back again - I am sure there is probably a bus you could get as well though, either from DTD or from the LBV area. Unsurprisingly, Disney don't want you to leave so don't want to make it too easy!!! :rotfl:

We did a split stay between US and WDW last year - so we only did a one way trip - used FL Tours and it was around $30.

On a couple of previous occasions, we have rang Mears coaches and booked with them - they pick you up at resort and drop you off - last did this in 2001 so not aware of current prices but you can check them out on their website. Go into 'services' and then 'attractions transportation' on the sub index and there is a 'contact us' on the menu at the top of the page - you could e-mail them for a price.

I wouldn't attempt the Lynx bus transportation for Universal as it involves a couple of changes and whilst cheap, would be very time consuming. Lynx is good, however for Seaworld - there's a direct bus from the TTC. There's also a direct service to the Old Town in Kissimmee from the TTC - both are fairly frequent.

We went with mears last July round trip $28 each. Personally if theres more than 2 of you, go via towncar with quicksilver as its only $65 roundtrip(per car not per person), takes 4 people., you can prebook and prepay from england before you go to.

The only problem with mears is it picks up and drops off at other hotels, so you find yourself doing alot of waiting around, it took us nearly one and a half hours to get to universal, which normally in a car takes 20 minutes!!. Also they never picked us up, so we waited around for more than half an hour, and had to keep phoning them!!!.

Quicksilver have a very good reputation.
