I'm staying at Pop Century for a week. The last three days I'm attending a conference at the Swan/Dolphin. What's the best/fastest way to travel from Pop Century to the Swan/Dolphin? Conference starts at 8am each morning.

Bus to Studios (starts between 6:30 and 7:00 am), then walk/boat to Swan/Dolphin.

I assume you already checked the best available room rate at the S/D. Is anyone else at your conference staying at POP? A taxi is the fastest and easiest way. Just miss a DHS bus and you might wait 15-30 minutes. Same with the boat at DHS. Do you want to allow 10-15 minutes for a taxi or an hour for Disney transportation?

Do you want to be waiting for a bus at 7a or getting into a taxi at 7:45? Just miss a DHS bus and you won't be getting to the DHS until 7:35-7:40. Just enough time to walk to the S/D but maybe not enough time to wait for a boat.

Fastest way: Automobile.

(Rented or hired or chauffeured or your own)

With rare exceptions, resort to resort trips via Disney transportation require making a connection, which adds to the travel time. In some cases, one of the legs can be done on foot (no pun intended).

The boat from Disney Hollywood Studios "goes slow" and makes stops before the Swan. Those few resort to resort trips not requiring a connection all involve shared buses or boats.

For those eavesdropping and driving to a wedding or convention, etc. at a resort, and the guard after your explanation issues a 3 hour parking pass anyway, you should annotate the pass with the name of the event and approximate hours. The Swan and Dolphin do have parking fees.

Best way: I am not sure.

I wouldn't mess with walking from the Studios...it's kind of a hike from there to the Dolphin...looks a lot shorter than it actually is. Just my opinion.

The Friendship Boats from DHS don't start until 8 a.m. I think the walk from DHS to the Swan is about 15-20 minutes.

If you get the bus from Pop to DHS before the boats are running, you can try asking the driver to drop you at the Swan. No guarantee -- I would do it, but I dont know whether every driver would.

Be at the bus stop by 7 a.m. the first day, until you get a feel for how things will work out.

Or take a taxi. It's only a few miles, so it should be under $10.

No way it's 15-20 minutes to the Swan from the Studios. I walk that path all the time and the most it takes me to get from the Studios all the way to Epcot is 20 minutes!!

Yes, it is longer than it could be cause you have to walk past the Swan on the other side of the waterway, then cross a bridge, but the walk is honestly 10 minutes tops.

One thing cast members learn quickly: always err on the long side when estimating times.:)

It could be 10 minutes; it's been years since I walked it myself.

In December, it took us b/w 20-25 minutes from the time we left the Dolphin to the time we arrived at the main gate of DHS. We're weren't running, but we weren't dragging either.
