I made an ADR at Chef Mickey for 7:30 am at Chef Mickeys. I am staying at Pop Century. I plan to travel by Bus to MK and then walk to Chef Mickeys.

The day I made the reservation, MK opens at 9:00 and there is no morning extra Hour.

Will the busses be running early enough for me or do I need to move my ADR back to 8 or 8:30?

Part 2- If I leave at 6:45 does that sound right?

Buses start running at 6:30, but they don't ru quite as frequently as they do the rest of the day - only about once every 30 minutes. I would be at the bus stop at 6:30, just to be safe.

Be out at the MK bus stop by 6:15. Sometimes those buses, especially those to MK, start running earlier than 6:30.

Budget for a taxi. Getting up at 5:30am just to make a breakfast sounds miserable and will make for a very long day.

Don't forget after you get off the bus at the Magic Kingdom, I would recommend using the walkway to the Contemporary because it's located right by their bus station and you are very close to the Contemporary. Here is an overhead map of just how close it is and how the walkway works.

If you ask nicely the MK bus driver MAY drop you off at the Contemporary on his way to the MK. We've had some bus drivers do it and some that wouldn't for early Chef Mickey reservations.

I wouldn't even think of asking if he/she would stop. Instead...when I get on the bus, I ask the driver which is faster...walking or the monorail? If it's possible, the driver will spread some magic around and offer to drop you there directly. But it's so much nicer to let him decide on spreading the magic, rather than asking for it.

If you are the only ones on the bus, your chances are very good of getting dropped off at the CR. If you are with others going to other MK resorts (Poly, GF, WL), again your chances are very good. If there is even 1 guest going to MK, then policy is to go to MK (unless you can convince that guest to let the driver drop you off).

Honestly? I would budget the $20 for a taxi.

Following Disney Conventional Wisdom you are supposed to give yourself at least an hour to get from point A to point B on Disney property. And they have been advocating an hour and a half. Plus your ADR will state they like you to check in 20 minutes prior to your ADR time. So if you follow all of that advice, you should be out at your bus stop by 6:10 at the latest.

Using a taxi you can leave your resort around 7am. That extra hours of sleep is worth the $20, imho. Plus the busses do not run frequently that early in the day. I would rather have a taxi I know will be there instead of waiting at a bus stop hoping my bus shows up sooner rather than later.

We had a 7:20 ressie at CM and left from all-stars. We waited at bus stop around 6:45 the bus driver asked for a show of hands of whom was going to what breakfast and told us that he would stop at the Contemporary. We dropped off poly and grand floridian people first and then got to contemporary around 7:15. Check in line was long, and the picture line was even longer (we skipped this). We were seated had two rounds of the buffet, met all the characters and had paid our bill by 8:30 (we are two people). We took the monorail over to the MK and saw the opening ceromony with a minute to spare and made the rope drop. Hope that helps (i was also nervous about this trek before we left) Oh and I just called the front desk the night before and asked what time the MK breakfast bus was leaving.

We've done this exact route during our Nov 08 trip. Our ADR was 7:20am and we were at the bus stop by 6:30am. We waited about 5-10 minutes and although we were the only ones on the bus and the driver knew we were going to Chef Mickey's, he did not drop us off at the Contemporary. We didn't expect it at all so we weren't disappointed. We then took the monorail over and arrived just fine. I thought it was a great ADR time (for a 9:00am MK opening) because we finished up and headed over to the MK just in time.

Enjoy!!
