Pop Century...the Other Side

I would not count on the second half of pop being completed when you are there. When we were at pop in 2004 the buildings in phase 2 look the same as they do today. if disney ever completes phase 2 of pop they will probally need to tear down those buildings and start over. they have sat vacant so long they probally can not be completed.

so anyway, if you still want to stay at pop count on staying in the classic years section. :thumbsup2

Early this month we stayed in the 50s facing the lake & always saw the bldgs across the lake. It didn't bother us at all. I just love being at POP, its our favorite place (not that we have tons to compare) LOL

hey I stayed in almost all the Disney resorts and I love pop too.

for a big resort it has a small resort feel. (except for breakfast - everyone is trying to eat before going to the parks - so it definitely feels crowded for breakfast)!!! the only other time it is that busy is when the parks closed - if the food court is still open.

When we inquired about the status of those buildings on a previous trip, we had a humorous cast member tell us that construction had come to a halt because Disney encountered a dilemma. They like for everything to be as authentic as possible, so they were considering whether the rooms should have indoor plumbing as many did not during these decades. :rotfl2:

we thought that was an original response to handle what is probably a very annoying question to them. :rotfl:

Probably nothing has changed in the last five months, but does anyone have any new information on "The Other Side" of Pop Century?

I heard that the pool in the 1910s section will give a new meaning to the name "quiet pool" to emulate the silent film era. That's right - No talking aloud.

I sort of like the erie look of the empty "Ledgendary Years". We usually stay lakeside at POP and it's so quiet and erie looking over there!
