Calling all you apprentice Imagineers! :wave2:

Imagine that Disney is FINALLY going to finish the POP Century, The Legendary Years.

What do you think each section be decorated like? Icons? Pools? Etc.

Remember they are the 1900’s; 1910’s; 1920’s; 1930’s and 1940’s.

Have fun! :wizard:

:goodvibes I imagine the roaring 20's with the flapper dresses, scarfs as hair accessories, and red lipstick. If they ever completed this section, I would want to stay in this era. The phonograph playing 1920's music to dance the Charleston. Wow!! I think it would be amazing.

Totally agree with dandee. I would love to see this resort come to fruition.

When I was a kid I used to go to a place called Gas Light Village (in Lake George New York) and that is exactly how I would like to see this resort.

So what was the Gas Light Village like inside?
I imagine the 1920's resort to have the heavy red velvet drapes and victorian furniture with gold colored stuffed armchairs. Mantel piece clocks that chime on the hours.
These kind of resorts would be like taking a step back in time. Unfortunately, the 50's to 90's really isn't that big of a step back for me. The 20's, 30's and 40's could be quiet the "time travel" if they were done up well. I think if I went to the 1920's resort, I would want to "dress-up" in character as well. :goodvibes It would be fun. It would be interesting to see what kind of food would be served. Somehow, I don't think McDonald's french fries would fit in. The mode of transportation could also be like the 1920's Ford cars...model T's, if I'm not mistaken. I love the 1920's, but there are a lot of aspects of that era I don't know. It has me thinking though. :sunny:

You just described Gas Light Village. Very victorian it was like going back to that era. To be honest I was a kid when we used to go. It is no longer there. I'm not sure if it was some sort of an amusement park or just a themed village with different exhibits that portrayed living in that time. I do remember it was beautiful. It was like going back to simpler time.

The 20s would of course have to have some Gatsby references, too. ;)

The 30s might be kind of hard with the Depression, but would of course have to have a Snow White building (which came out in the late 30s). How fun would that be with all the dwarves! :teeth:

The 40s could have all the WWII "propaganda" (for lack of a better word) posters, like Rosie the Riveter.

No guesses on decoration but I would LOVE for it to have bunk beds and rooms for a family of 5!!!! I have a boy and a girl and they do not like to sleep in the same bed. If I could dream even bigger the rooms would have a mini kitchen!!! I don't think that will happen at a value but the bunks could! :teeth:

Great ideas! For the 30's I'd expect a bar with a bath tub filled with liqour! :rotfl:

Remember, Disney did a lot of work in the 40's for the war, they can definitely deck it out with Mickey and Friends cartoons dressed up in their military uniforms they wore in the cartoons. I watched the Disney in the Military (forgot the actual name) tin can cartoons and theres a lot of war stuff with the characters. Mainly Donald and Pluto.

My DD (13) is absolutely convinced that part of the lengendary years will be decorated like Hollywood Boulevard/Tower of Terror. Maybe the 30's. If Disney does this I believe she will go there and live forever. ;)

Unfortunately none of the buildings will look like Hollywood Boulevard; it will look just like the rest of Pop and the All-Stars with giant icons representing the decades.

As for the themeing, I can tell you for sure that the resort will include Crayola crayons, life savors, monopoly, and Tonka trucks. They will also have elements based on Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs, and the telephone. The main pool will be in 1920’s section in the shape of the Coke Contour bottle, with another pool in the 1900’s/1910’s shaped like a rocket and a route 66 themed pool shaped like a road sign in the 1940’s

Here is some concept art of what the courtyard between the 1930's buildings will one day look.

Thanks for the picture and the information. I am sure Mickey from Steamboat Willie will be part of the 20's!

I don't understand the Rocket shaped pool for the "00's/10's". That's more of a 40's/50's theme. :confused3

I totally agree with this! i just didnt know if it was appropriate to write! glad you did and not me. :rotfl2:

i teach high school u.s. history and that is the first thing that came to my mind. along with snow white of course which was filmed to help people escape their emotions during the "depression" they should definalty have somthing tied in with that too. even if it was a desert name after the dustbowl or somthing.

Sorry my mistake. The 1900's/1910's will have a crossword puzzle pool. The rocket pool was on some early site plans however I think it was just filler until the design for the crossword puzzle pool was finalized.

LOL! That makes more sense!

WOW!!! The concept art of the 1930's courtyard is really cool! Maybe the icons for the 1930's could be some of the players pieces, and monopoly money could be used in the food court. The buldings in the 30's and/or the food could use the property names from the game.
Does anyone remember when the Mousetrap and Clue games came out?

:smooth: Gatsby brings to my mind: Men in pinstriped suits and machine gun props.
Also the old phonograph players with the 78's.
Maybe some of us should sign up for the imagineers jobs. :rotfl2:
