We just returned from 5 days/6 nights at Pop Century. I'm 7 weeks pregnant and am having some typical stomach issues. I checked Everything Pop for the appropriate OTC pg-safe medications and was disappointed. Let me just say that Pepto or Immodium would do the OPPOSITE of what I needed.

ahem

I texted a friend/dr and he told me what I should find.

I called Turner Drugs from DHS about 2pm and talked with the pharmacist. He was very understanding and said "no problem! It will be at the front desk when you get back tonight!"

And... It was!

For a $5 delivery fee and $2.78 in medicine, my tummy issues were resolved, and I was able to enjoy our trip so very much more.

I can't recommend this service enough. In the past, we've needed prescriptions delivered and was disappointed when our insurance wouldn't reimburse us. But it was still worth it.

Basically, the decision to use Turner Drugs came down to getting a cab and spending at least an hour and $30ish for some $3 medicine or having it waiting for me at the front desk for a $5 delivery fee.

No brainer, people.

Next time, I'm taking this stuff with me. Pregnant or NOT!

We also had a great experience with Turner drugs. I had a horrible ambulance/ER experience while we were staying at CR last year thanks to a terrible bout with pneumonia. Turner drugs delivered (literally) with two different sets of medications - the first drugs prescribed at the hospital and then an alternative after I had a bad reaction to the first. They were in contact directly with my doctor in NY after the medication from the ER didn't work out. They were very nice and got us everything quickly for basically peanuts. I think that they don't take insurance for prescription drugs - but that may have been because my plan was out of state. In any event, they gave us receipts to submit for reimbursement when we got back home, and when I promptly misplaced those, they happily faxed me the receipts (twice). A very nice operation. I hope not to have to use them again, but it's great to know they are there.

We too have used Turner Drugs twice. And we were very pleased!!!! Our 1st time my oldest daughter decided to get a tooth ache on the trip, which resulted in a root canal when we arrived home. During this trip, we didn't even know about Turner Drugs, Front desk informed us, we called and the medicine was there within 30 minutes. No problem with our insurance reimbursing us when we got back. Our second experience was we traveled the day before from our house to Memphis to catch a plane the following morning. Somewhere between home and the hotel in Memphis my younger daughter and myself, got pink eye. Called our doctor back home to call in a prescription to Turner Drugs, and when we arrived at the resort hours later, the medicine was waiting for us at check in. It was great and such a relief for our eyes. I can only say great things about this service. :yay:
