hi all,
i have a ressie at pop from oct 3- oct 13 2005. i called disney today to see if i can get a perferred room instead of a standard.i was told the whole resort is sold out for my dates. no perferred and no standard rooms are available for my dates.so heres my question
is this normal or does it sound like it will be busy? we have stayed at pop 2 other times and i don't remember ever hearing it booked solid but i never tried to changed to perferred before. we always booked perferred so i never asked or called in the past.what do you think? I was thinking that maybe alot of people were putting rooms on hold for 2 weeks then upgrading to different resorts or just not calling back with a deposit so the room ressie would be canceled. ever heard pop sold out?
TIA you guys are the best!

I was there in April and was told that there were no preferred rooms available before I left. When I got there, no problem, plenty of preferred rooms. I then changed my mind and opted to go for the 70's. I have stayed in both preferred and 70's before, and 70's are fine. Some of those rooms are actually closer to the food court than the 60's. I was traveling alone, so they put me right next to the elevator on the top floor. Top floor was my request. Hve fun!

thanx for the quick reply :wave2:

I know from past experience - when it's not that crowded they will only open so many rooms in a resort, so when you call for reservations - they tell you rooms are not available. They basically don't have enough CM's to go around.
My brother had a problem getting days at the Wilderness Lodge - he was wait listed for a few days. He kept calling, but then finally got the days he wanted. When he got down there, he found out half the WL was empty - one of the CM's told him that they actually shut down sections. That might be the case with Pop - I would keep checking - and if nothing happens - try again when you get down there! Lots of Luck!

The reasons others stated above are probably accurate- but just to let you know... they are also booked (they say -online and by phone) the last week of Sept also. I know because that's when we wanted to book at POP and we had to settle for an All Stars resort instead. :(

There is a Preferred room available for your dates - the price would be $992.40 for room-only.

But, as DiscussDisney said, there are no rooms available with the Free Dining package. :confused3

if you were booked with the dinning plan that would be my guess, there are always only a limited number of "special" packages availible. We have found at other values that sometimes we did not like the preferred rooms because of the noise level. They were generally right next to the main pool.

Hi, we are going to WDW and staying at POP the exact dates you are...yeah :cheer2: I booked several weeks ago with the dining offer and I am sure it is sold out due to the overwhelming response to the free dining offer. I am kind of concerned it will be crowded because of this, but am hopeful there are only limited rooms available for this offer and there are plenty rack rate rooms left. Honestly, I have heard from 1st hand experience that the "preferred" rooms are no better or worse than the others. Certain views and conveniences maybe, but not worth worrying about I would think. Also, there will more than likely be upgrades avail. when you check in. Maybe I'll see you there, even though I would have no idea who you are :rotfl: Have fun, I'm counting down right there with ya'

Remember that lots of schools are on break around this time. I am off the following week, and my older ds (We live in the neighboring district.) has 2 weeks off for fall break. That translates into LOTS of families heading for WDW. I know we will be!

I had to book a room at ASsp because there were none in ASMo the first week in october also. I also looked at PoP but there were only preferred rooms available
