Pop Century Rooms Quiet?

?What's your experience? Are the rooms at Pop quiet? or do you hear lots of running around, etc.? We need two bedrooms (my adult brother is coming with us) and with the Institute turning into a DVC, a two-bedroom is very expensive. Thought connecting rooms at Pop for my brother and son would work, but have never stayed at a value before and hubbie is not in favor because he thinks it will be noisy.
Would appreciate your experience at Pop ... thanks!

I stayed at Pop in a preferred room (the 60s section). I didn't here anything from the rooms next to me, but there was a lot of noise at the pool. The main pool is right below this section. The noise did not bother us at all, in fact, we kind of liked it.
But if it is an issue for you I would reccomend you stay away from the main pool area and ask for a quiet section. I would think staying near the lake would be quite.

Hope this helps.

By the way Pop Century was my first value resort also and I was a little nervous, but we loved it. In fact we loved it so much we will be going back again.

We stayed in the 70's section, facing the Foosball area. We heard lots of noise from people passing by the room--yelling for their friends and family, whistling, etc. The went on until very late.

I would also suggest a room that is more out of the way, maybe facing the lake. Our room was fairly close to the main building, but since it was a main path we had a lot of foot traffic and therefore noise.

I do plan to stay here again, but in a quieter area.

We stayed at Pop Century this past July 4th, and we LOVED it!!! We were in the 60s bldg (the bldg with Mowgli & Baloo), on the third floor, and our room overlooked the kiddie pool.

We never heard our neighbors, and we never heard any outside noise!! It really is a nice hotel!

We'll also be back for our next visit (in December!!!!!)!!! Can't wait!!!

We also stayed in the 70s room facing the fooseball(sp?). We had connecting rooms on the 3rd floor. The neighbors next door slammed their door coming and going well past midnight. They also had many people in the room - having a party? Sure sounded like it.

We could hear people outside sometimes, but that wasn't really a factor.

I think it is a very popular resort and priced to attract lots of families. There were children running everywhere, all the time. I am 5 of my own children but I would never let them run free like I saw there.

We now stay at the Ft. W cabins and love them. You still get that Disney magic and yet feel that like you have your own little cabin. Also, they have some good rates, much cheaper that the DVC.

We just returned from POP last week & we loved it there. We have stayed at deluxes before, but we are returning to POP in January again. We were in the 50's section (Tramp building #3) facing the lake. We were a short walk to the main building, but were on the backside of the building where there isn't as much foot traffic. I think if you have a room right along the main path it may be noisier. Never heard any noise inside the room - with the exception of the last 2 nights. We had a neighbor that was with a larger group that had rooms on the other side of our building. They were constantly going in & out with their door banging loudly until midnight. I really don't think this is the norm though. We will be back at POP without another thought. :)

We split our stay last week between CBR and WL. AT CBR we must not have had neighbors and once briefly heard people pass by the room and a toilet flushing (they were only walking, not talking at all, much less being noisy). Very quiet.

But at WL we had noise problems. The people next to us were very noisy until late at night. They had a child that must have been opening and closing the drawers for a LONG time. that was one thing, but the adults were yelling and talking LOUDLY well after 11PM. We called the front desk and things quieted down for awhile, but we were woken up later when these same people were talking loudly (yelling...) on the balcony. I opened our balcony door to make sure it was coming from next door and then opened the conncecting door (just wanted to make sure theirs was closed since the sound was traveling so easily... ;) ). the quieted down before long, but woke my DH up the next night.

So, the noise problems can happen anywhere. Too bad, because that is a sore spot with me. I do like my sleep! Of course in hindsight we wished that we would have stuck with CBR for our vacation, but we could have ended up with noisy neighbors there, too.

When we have stayed, the other thing that was annoying was when our RUDE neighbors put the door lock thing so that the door wouldn't close .....in turn making a loud bang noise every time someone left the room. Otherwise, just like ANY OTHER hotel room, if someone is yelling, you will hear it. If someone is banging on stuff, you will hear it. Go enjoy your vacation, Disney WOULD NOT make a hotel unless it was top notch no matter WHAT CATEGORY it is in (value/moderate,etc..)

Enjoy.

We also stayed at the POP this yr and it was my first value experience. I was worried, but did psych myself for the difference. While there were some things I did not like (the front of the building, noise in the food court, but you can go over the lounge area and eat quietly), overall is was fine. The rooms, of course, are small, but adequte and kind of cute. It was very clean and quiet (except for the occasional door slamming). We stayed on the 4th fl, buidling 2, 50's, lake side room 2456. Easy walk, and could see top of Illuminations and MK fireworks at night (when MK had fireworks). In the distance, but still fun. Non-smoking.

Enjoy!!
