Pop Century Room Renovations

Though my wife and I have a King at home, we have had no issues sharing a Queen when at WDW or in a hotel room. And all reports I've seen have raved about the comfort of the new mattresses.

My hubby and I slept on the pull down bed and loved it. The beds are so much nicer now. I believe they both have the same mattress, so you really can’t tell a difference when on the Murphy bed vs a regular bed.

Ps. We also really loved everything about the refurbished rooms and are staying there again in December

They are the same mattress so really no difference from the bed. Two queens. My adult sons shared just fine, a few trips now.

Have been here since Sat. Have worn shorts, capris, jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, gloves and a lightweight winter coat for my daughter. All that to say, the temps can vary greatly at this time of year!

It was hot in the sun at 2:00 today and by 7:30 waiting for fireworks at MK the temp had dropped significantly.

I would say tonight was the coolest we’ve felt and I was confortable most of the time with socks, running/tennis shoes, jeans, a t-shirt and hoodie. Occasionally felt chilled when there was a breeze. I will say though that I don’t tend to feel the cold as much as some.

I would pack prepared to layer. The one thing I didn’t bring enough of was socks as I anticipated wearing croc sandals and haven’t yet. Hope this helps!

Keep an eye on the overnight temps! Most mornings by 10 we’re into t-shirts but early mornings and after dark can be chilly, especially as it’s a damp cool.

I'm just wondering if it will all be done of if there will still be a chance of a non-refurb if the 50's aren't finished by then. Thank you for any responses!

No one knows the exact date of when the refurbishments will be done. They are already behind on them so it’s hard to tell.

They are incredibly comfortable. The leather is like butter. So much so that I just noticed I had worn out the soles after 3 years of non-stop wear (summer/spring/fall). The Husband noticed I tossed them into the trash. I wasn't happy to be traveling with only my black pair, as the woodsmoke is my favorite color. The Husband surprise me the other evening with a brand new pair! Didn't say a word, just left the box on top of my suitcase. Love him!

There isn’t an official date. My suggestion is to take a look at Page 1, Post 2 as it lists all the refurbishment history dates. Basically it took 10 months to complete the first half of the resort.

No, BLDG 5 is closed, BLDG 4 is only partially closed. Some PPV rooms in 5 are close to opening but all of them in 4 should be open.

This has probably been asked already but I was wondering how the pull down bed was for two adults? I’m planning a family trip (8 adults) for next year. The kids, now adults, and their wives have mentioned missing Pop Century. Our last trip we all stayed at POFQ which I love. We’ve added two wives to our group now. More people = more $$$. I’m wondering if we can get away with Pop now? Thanks for any information you can pass along.

We felt super cramped on the new mattress, so much that my husband ended up sleeping on the Murphy bed. I’m hoping for a king this trip, but if not he’ll just sleep on the other bed again.

Also the weather, I’m curious on this too. We leave 2/28-3/7. I went one time 2 years ago in March during spring break and froze at night. I had to buy a hoodie, and the park was pretty much cleaned out of hoodies. I went last year at the beginning of April and it was up and down. Some hot days some colder days. I’m bringing leggings, one long sleeve and will have to figure out a hoodie situation to be safe. We’re from NE Ohio too so we know cold lol. I’m praying it’s more mild when we go!

They're definitely queens.

Yes, this. Somewhere in this thread (I think it was this one) someone actually measured the mattresses to confirm that they were both the same size back when the first renovated rooms opened. Both measured 60" x 80".
