:sunny: Good Morning!! I have just been reading some replys to people who have questions about Pop Century. Some of you suggest staying in the 50's bld., top floor, water view. It seems like this is the best bldg. but if I am unable to obtain this section will we be disappointed in any other water view location? When I asked for a pool view room I was informed that Disney will do there best to accomadate my request. If this bldg is not available are there any other suggestions? I am traveling with my husband and 2 1/2 year old daughter. Thanks to all replies. princess:

having just stayed at pop century, it's my opinion that you will not be disappointed no matter where you stay! it's a great resort, with a nice feel, and comfortably compact so that all locations are good locations... everything is close to everything else! don't fret and ENJOY!

I'm starting to think I do better when I don't request anything. Just got back from 2nd trip to POP in 5 weeks. 1st trip - no request - got a wonderful room in 70's building facing the lake. 2nd trip - week of Sept. 9 - 13, figured not very crowded so I'll probably get my request - asked for 50's facing the lake...got 70's facing the courtyard! LOL

But as others have said, I don't think you'll be disappointed anywhere - it's a great resort!

We were just at the Pop in July and we were in the 80's section facing the parking lot but we were not disappointed at all. We were very close to our car which was really nice and through the trees you could see the Disney World Sign which was the neatest feeling. It was very quiet and not as crowded as some of the other locations. There is also sort of a short cut through the pool area to the buses. Our walk from our room to the buses was about 5 minutes and the 80s pool is nice and large.

I don't believe a water view makes much of a difference in a value resort.

Here is what I tell Pop Century questioners:

If you have a car, request the 50s. Their parking lot is apparently bigger and less crowded although I personally haven't seen it.

If you are taking Disney transportation, request the 70s or 80s. They are closer to the bus stops. Their closest parking lot, however, is too small and fills up soon after the parks close.

The 60s is a central location and are sold as "preferred rooms" - for an extra $10 a night you can be guaranteed a room close to the main building and pool.

I have stayed in the 60's and the 70's. I won't pay for preferred again as there is really no advantage as the 70's are just as close to the main building, and $10 less per night. And 60's parking is awful.

I wouldn't do preferred either... I'm always in the 70s. Some folks prefer the guaranteed placement, though.
